Open Studios 3-5 May venue 75 where you can see a lot of my very, very new paintings and learn about the creative process. AND you can visit the other 94 studios in out of the way corners of this beautiful kingdom.
This is the premier international annual show of wildlife art and I have been honoured to be juried by my peers as a signature member and selected for show many times - including receiving awards in two of their shows.
CONGRATULATIONS! Seahorses in The Seagrass Forest has been juried into the Society Of Animal Artists 65th Annual Exhibition. It will take place at the Art Museum Of Eastern Idaho, USA, September 18th through January 3rd, 2026.
As well as the art, study sheets and field notes often end up published as scientific papers.

Moscow! Every winter I trap woodcock under licence and they are quickly and safely measured, fitted with a ring and released. One was recovered in Latvia and news on this one just arrived- a bird recovered near Moscow 843 days later 2617 km away,

AMAZING day on the Treshnish Isles with Turus Mara. Sketching puffins in blazing sunshine. Seals, sea eagles and great skuas too. Highly, highly recommended.

Drawn from observation. I have several sites where I find groups of 8+ Eurasian Woodcock doing this lek-like courtship behaviour in Jan-Feb. I don't know anyone else finding this so here is an illustration of their behaviour to accompany a short note that is getting sent for publication.
