To make it clear, I'm not playing (I have enough on my hands with a new WoW raid race soon) but yeah, my plan all along had been to sit out at least the beginning of this with a wait and see attitude.

The lore goes really friggin deep and was even more obscured than Destiny lore, but it's really interesting.

Makes sense why the writers mined it like that.

Reading up on Marathon lore and...huh...

The Phor are basically the Covanent and/or the Cabal.
Durandal is Emperor Calus.
The S'phit are the Psions.
DER is basically Rampancy, but backwards.
Sekiguchi is Braytech.
The Jjaro are the Forerunners if they were still around.

Welp at least I have time before GDC. I leave in...
