I love cooking late night pasta so much.
This is in an Australian public emergency department. I don't know the law with other emergency departments (e.g America)
We have zero tolerance policy on disrespectful, abusive and racist behaviour. If they continue to behave in such a manner, despite warnings, (e.g refusing treatment because I'm an Asian doctor, not a caucasian), they can be removed from the Emergency Department.
It is totally unacceptable behaviour
I very much appreciated the senior ED Doctor in charge (who is also caucasian) for backing me up and telling off the patient for their racist behaviour.
Best kind of support β¨οΈπ
Thanks, it was a little upsetting but sort of expected in the career but absolutely zero tolerance for that kind of nonsense in the emergency department.
Met my first racist patient lol outright saying only wanting Caucasian medical staff to treat them and threatening to take me to the court if I don't give them what they want lolol.
Going into the weekends knowing there will be no new episode of digimon beatbreak due to it being on hiatus.
Sure.
Hey friends, please note that I have changed my handle from hydrawave.bsky.social to hackwave.bsky.social

The Pitt's newest episode had furry representation on it.
Amazing.
But yes, the doctor in me really needs to stress this. When wearing a fursuit, especially during summer, you're at a much higher risk of getting heat exhaustion or worse, heat stroke (medical emergency) without realizing it. (1/n)
we love dragons in medical scrubs
The anthrocon/furry episode of The Pitt has spoken.
Santos would absolutely have a dragon fursona
Ezcooldown is the cooling gear I wear when I am fursuiting. Its extremely helpful in keeping myself from overheating. Even with it, one should still be mindful about their heat tolerance and their bodies' limit.

Also, if you do collapse and heat stroke is suspected, paramedics are actually legally allowed to cut open your expensive fursuit for immediate access to provide lifesaving treatment under duty of care (:
So keep hydrating yourself and take breaks for your own sake! (and your fursuit's sake)
Recognise the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke as well, I'll just leave this funny infographic to sum it all up and what to do if you happen to be experiencing symptoms of this by www.thermapparel.com/blogs/news/t...

Make sure to hydrate yourself before & during fursuiting frequently & take breaks every half an hour to 1 hour to get some airflow. Spend some cash to get some of those cooling gear stuff as well in your fursuit (I dont know which ones specifically, but I was told that some fursuits have this) (2/n)
