Except reviewing (in my field at least) is unpaid volunteer work, and high quality reviews are not really rewarded. These are systemic issues related to incentives that ought to be fixed so we don’t have additional “cigarettes are actually good for you” publications.

I think you were spot on with your original post. Protests need message discipline. The Mexican flags and small spats of violence paint a narrative that Fox news loves. We need nonviolent demonstrators who love America and feel that the current administration is fundamentally anti-American.
