Simply the best football book I have read for many a year. Well researched and beautifully written, it is an excellent resource for a couple of book ideas I am working on

My piece on athlete Ron Hill (1938-2021) is now in Oxford DNB. Hill gained multiple honours in cross-country and distance running, and used the skills from his PhD in textile design to create a clothing range.
