While we're celebrating Zelda's 40th, I want to give some love to some of the foundational action adventure games that predated it. Hydlide, in particular, deserves more respect outside of Japan for what it did for the genre in '84 (PC88).

Drew another one of my Rimworld colonists pt23

A big sheet of paper with random notes and sketches using colored markers scattered haphazardly. Various ideas are written like "Fire is grid based and spreads :(" and "Questions: real time or turn based?"

You can see a lot of the foundational ideas there, but this was before we even pictured having ship-to-ship combat.
