I went in 2024 and low-key tried to time it to coincide with Vybez's comeback show. Trip ended up being too early after his release tho. Kingston was awesome though.

Free Palestine. Music (african, jazz, reggae, punk, funk/soul/disco, krautrock etc) primarily on vinyl records. New Jersey Devils, sports in general. Environment, urbanism, government. Buy records from me: https://www.discogs.com/seller/HumbleRodentia

Captain America imo
Canada Men's Curling touching the stone while it's in contact with the hog line
My response to the result of that challenge:
Thunder Road, My Hometown, or Fire
Extremely selfishly - I ran eighty six 5k's last summer in the exact area that would be restricted by the fan zone. I'm very happy, and I do hope there is a suitable alternative.
It's Ahover. Take the LindELL. It's Haulover. Etc.
Discogs marketplace was always supposed to be a place for hobbyists to buy and sell specific items. Its a bunch of niche markets slapped together. Its not a replacement for record stores or vinyl fairs and the idea that it could ever be was the first fatal mistake made by their current management.
UMO kicks ass and Reuben is active and really cool on various forms of social media (insta I think is the most recent I saw, but he was on Twitter back in the day too)
Just remembered that Lil Yachty Post Rock record (Black Seminole) out of nowhere. What a cool thing.
The Athletic is an absolute shitrag. I can think of ~3 writers I respect on the entire platform.
Carlos Alcaraz is so fucking cool
Not against the policy whatsoever, and don't think it should be repealed, I just think the financial windfall was severely misallocated. Specifically because it continues to reinforce car-centric infrastructure and development.
I drive around Jersey less these days, but haven't noticed much improvement. Look forward to the (hypothetical) new Port Authority Bus Terminal, but the extant building was woefully unprepared for quicker times across bridges & tunnels.
Congestion pricing could help contribute to extending that line to Newark Airport (currently you have to take an unreliable and infrequent NJTransit commuter line to EWR), which would be a huge boon to New Yorkers as well as tourists, and of course New Jerseyans.
And just so I can provide an example of what I think the money should be used for - the PATH is a subway that's administered by the Port Authority. It runs between lower Manhattan, through Hudson County, and currenrly terminates at Newark Penn Station.
but the commuters who are paying the tolls (people from NJ primarily, but also CT, NYers who take non-MTA buses) will see basically nada in terms of improvement to their alternatives to driving.
It was basically used to fill a budget hole in the MTA, which serves the 5 boroughs. So *some* people who are affected by the tolls (from what I understand, mostly improvements to bus service), but only those who pay NYC taxes...
My primary objection to congestion pricing, as someone who is heavily affected by it - has always been the destination of those additional funds. Basically zero is going to improve public transit options for those affected by the toll.
My inaugural radio show in NYC, all reggae and dub. Also serves as a face reveal if any of my followers were wondering what I look like. Keeping the default profile picture for now. Lmk what you'd be interested in hearing for next month's show.

I blame Kyrie for the lost opportunity much more than Harden or Marks for trading for him. Agree the package was too much in retrospect, but it's not the move that killed the 2021 Nets by any means, where the three mentioned basically *did* kill contending teams in one fell swoop.
Garnett-Pierce was more than 10 years ago. Maybe I'm off base but I don't think the Harden trades or anything else they did trade-wise during the big 3 era sniffs PG or Dame/Jrue
Hard to pick a Sly Dunbar record. Letβs go with the entire genre from 1974 to 1984 πΆ
Fuck, man. Sly Dunbar. One of the greatest drummer to ever live.
Alina Bzhezhinska - Harp Recital
Elori Saxl - The Blue of Distance
Macie Stewart - When The Distance Is Blue
