Where's the limit, Coun. Beamer? It it above or below the cost for a new arena? You don't hear councillors speak this way about roads or infrastructure, but human lives? Well, there's a limit to that.

Not the charm! Anything but the charm! Won't someone think of the charm???
Its repulsively colour corrected too. The grass in the movie is so distractingly vibrant green that it hurts my eyes.
I got two from Vinnies in East City. Mom's Basement downtown may also be able to hook you up. π
Probably not.
We SHOULD be pushing for affordable developments, but we also just need a mass influx of apartments to deal with the demand. Its a multi-pronged approach and supply isn't the only issue but its the one we can deal with the fastest.
Ptbo has a huge housing crisis, and the province has made it very clear the solution is high cost subdivisions. Lower cost rental housing is in such high demand, our rental vacancy rate has been 2% or lower for most of my life.
A greater supply of rentals can help plateau prices potentially.
#PTBO needs this desperately.
And it's location is great because there's no whiney homeowners trying to block the project because their home might be in shadows sometimes.
The city would be idiots NOT to approve this...
Learning now Chief Betts called out all traditional media, which is frankly worse. When the chief of police is actively working to foster distrust of journalists in the community he is supposed to serve as a public official, he is working against a basic principle of democracy. Do better, Stu.
Maybe by issue 16 the story will finally get started...
I enjoy the Miles solo game but the story... yikes. I don't think a single character was done well except Peter and he's barely in it.
Thats something I miss, the places open til 2am downtown to appeal to the drunk crowd. Now I think its only El Caminos thats open past midnight.
In fairness, a lot of those places stopped being open due to damage from rowdy drunks.
I was a Whistle Stop regular since I was a poor high schooler up the street, but no amount of nostalgia was ever going to make those 200+ poutines any good.
Let's put out energy grid, which people are already worried about now that its owned by Hydro One, and put an unnecessary strain on it where people are worried these data centres will cause brownouts, for an industry everyone is guessing will eventually burst at some point. Great idea Jeff.
I wish Keith the best but I think he faces an uphill battle. I think this going to be an exciting mayoral race though with some rowdy debates.
People who drive big trucks going 70 through a 30km zone and get mad when they get ticketed.
So, y'know... Dougie's closest friends and donors.
Brutal and heartbreaking.
These scams target the likely, vulnerable and the elderly. They prey on people who don't have much and take everything they can get.
I can only hope these people will be caught and prosecuted but the victims will never see a penny of their money back.
CBC article, from July 16 2025, headline reads: Income inequality hit record high at start of 2025, Statistics Canada says Subhead reads: Gap increased each year following start of COVID-19 pandemic
I was using the same 2024 article in videos a lil while back to cite that wealth inequality in Canada had reached record highs in 2024.
Fun update: there's now a 2025 article about how wealth inequality has reached record highs this year!
Wheeeeeeeeee
Developers may have eyes but once they see the incredible amounts of environmental assessments that will be required before any reuse is considered, it will kill those plans immediately.
The reality is GE will be a massive black hole in the middle of #PTBO for the rest of our lives.
A frustrating pause to another mid-rise development. It's so aggravating for these developers to put forward these ambitious plans and then just... fizzle.
Like we have so many empty properties in the downtown #PTBO area, somebody just build something already. You WILL make money off of it.
I'm very sorry that Jeff and his family have had to deal with this, that's awful.
I'm also very sorry that Alex Bierk got threatened to be carved up like a turkey. That's awful too.
I know each day we're slowly proceeding to the end of civilization but this may be the biggest harbinger of doom yet.
This is some "Tumblr is the next PDF" level nonsense.
Canadians living in #Ontario
I need you to fill all these out because Ford is threatening tenant rights in a way that could make many unable to be housed.

Hey Ontario. Please pay attention to this. It's fucking terrifying. As a renter I rely on rent control in order to, you know, LIVE, and this threatens to take it away from me and most people I know.
Write to your MPP. Call Ford's office. I don't even know what to think right now. Fuck Ford, man.
Doug Fordβs office has already received over ten thousand emails in the last 24 hours, saying no Bill 60, which would enable landlords to renegotiate leases every year, and refuse to renew without cause.
Acorn Ontario is calling this proposal βFordβs most dangerous actβ and theyβre right #onpoli
Dougie is probably hoping his tariff ad stunt will distract people from this.
Sign this petition. Email your elected officials. If Ford is allowed to kill rent control, we will see an apocalyptic wave of homelessness from people booted out by landlords so they can raise the rent.
Doug Ford wants to give landlords the right to kick you from your apartment so the landlord can charge more for it. It would mean the death of rent control in Ontario.
Hell no.
He will not be allowed to disenfranchise renters so he can enrich his landlord buddies.

This was the response from Lansdowne Place in #Ptbo after talking with two scared seniors who were scammed out of their money by the Bitcoin machine.
Unacceptable. People are being taken advantage of and the mall is profiting from it.
Shoutouts to the political parties that attended yesterday's #PTBO Pride Parade, the NDP, Liberals and Conservatives!
You have to wonder how much the city is spending on these useless shelters just so they have a legal defence that allows them to evict homeless people from parks.
It also makes you wonder how that money could be better spent on permanent solutions instead.
