Screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation. The top shows a bluesky post from user 'mr. cannoli' (@boner.ink) posted 1 day ago that reads: 'just heard the bell toll, don't give a fuck who that's for, not my business'. Below is a reply from 'Mom' that simply says 'Noooo'.
Tried sending my mom a funny bleet but she values the arts too much
A vintage Arabic advertisement for Royal Gelatin. Features a black and white illustration of a layered dessert parfait in a tall stemmed glass, topped with a slice of citrus and a spring of mint, surrounded by decorative bubbles. The ad includes Arabic text promoting the product and the "Royal Gelatin Dessert" brand name in both Arabic and English, with a small product box illustration in the bottom right corner.
My goal is to make a website with translations. Just getting started. The Notes app's scanning feature doesn't cut it; Scanner Pro is effective for OCR purposes but loses color and has privacy issues.
For now, please enjoy this effervescent Royal Gelatin ad. Could make a good t-shirt?
A faded magazine cover featuring a black and white portrait photograph of a woman in profile wearing a bridal veil. The photo is framed by a decorative blue ribbon border above a beige background with white hand-styled polka dots. At the top is a red banner with Arabic text reading "Ψ΅ΩΨͺ Ψ§ΩΩ Ψ±Ψ£Ψ©".
Here's the cover of "Ψ΅ΩΨͺ Ψ§ΩΩ Ψ±Ψ£Ψ©" (trans. Arabic: Sawt al-Mar'ah, "Woman's Voice") from November 1949. I'd heard that my grandfather, who I never met, helped publish an early feminist magazine in Lebanon. There isn't much about it online. I bought a few issues that I found for sale.

I've been working for the past year on a new companion built into glasses. We're debuting what I think is the best speech engine in all the land, and we're shooting for something extremely ambitious. Ping me if you're interested. We're hiring across the board.

Answer: UTF-7 being decoded as ASCII. That apostrophe is a U-2019 Right Single Quotation Mark.
Anyway, if you know what this is please lmk, I'm curious.
A small character encoding mystery. I came across this product review where apostrophes got replaced with "+IBk-". Curious, I tried searching for more examples or information. The only instance I came across is this bizarre Usenet post, which seems like it should be from 30 years earlier.
