Congratulations to @helenisinthelab.bsky.social for winning the Suspended! challenge at #lorneiandi 2026! She had great competition from Long Huynh. Thank you to VIIN and all the sponsors for making this amazing event possible.

Epidermal growth factor receptor controls sex differences in lung type 2 responses to inhaled allergen Female mice have exacerbated, EGFR-dependent lung type 2 immunity when exposed to inhaled house dust mite throughout sexual maturation.

A new #ScienceImmunology study finds that epidermal growth factor receptor signaling exacerbates type 2 immunity in female mice exposed to house dust mites, and may drive sex differences in asthma. https://scim.ag/4qCYioq

Hello world, it's a gΜΆiΜΆrΜΆlΜΆ/ΜΆbΜΆoΜΆyΜΆ PhD baby πŸŽ‰

Very elated, proud (and relieved!) to announce that my PhD work is now out in @science.org #ScienceImmunology πŸ‘‡ www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Read to find out how we made EGFR sexy again! πŸ’ƒ

Itaconate levels decrease in sputum following allergen inhalation in mild asthmatics, suggesting a dynamic metabolic response to airway challenge. Genetic deletion of Acod1 in mice did not alter airway inflammation or remodelling in response to chronic house dust mite (HDM) exposure. Inhaled itaconate treatment reduced airway inflammation in HDM-exposed mice, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic strategy for allergic airway disease.

Had a brilliant time at the Victorian Infection & Immunity Network Young Investigator Symposium two weeks ago. Learned about cool science, shared my own data (fungi are real!) and met many lovely people. Super chuffed to have won the runner-up ECR talk prize, too πŸ’ƒ
