no matter how silly, there are still things to look forward to
still from Morvern Callar (2002, dir. Lynne Ramsay), Samantha Morton as Morvern staring despondently into her crt monitor with a gloomy xmas living room out of focus behind her
the terrible cgi crystals jutting from a snowy mountain from alliance atlantis' logo lightly overlayed with a close up crt still from Morvern Callar
that early-00s alliance atlantis cgi has to be in running for worst company logo before a great movie with Morvern Callar
*pretends i can give good dating advice despite being in a toxic, decade long relationship with magnetic timeline where we loudly announce we're breaking up for good once a year*
That Black Label Arcadia book sure has some fun stuff with The Question. Inspires less soul searching than other comics I've been reading and more sensible chuckles at his souped up Prius or smuggling methods.
between batman and geralt of rivia, folks just yearn for more comically stoic men that go "hmm"
William Eadie as James in Ratcatcher (1999, dir. Lynne Ramsay) staring out THAT WINDOW at the golden wheat fields
adding Ratcatcher to my "best movies i shouldn't have watched while powerlifting" list

when i try to sell friends on sega saturn games
oh goddammit
perhaps cheesy but it is honestly so beautiful to me that, in under twenty four hours, every copy of castration movie anthology i sold out. a real showcase that people not only want trans cinema and love this film, but that they trust a distributor/producer as great as muscle/liz.
idk man if your whole thing is "god how ANNOYING are non-binary people for asking me to say THEY and THEM instead of SHE or HE" then honestly i think you should [redacted] yourself

For months, @jacksonwryan.com has been looking into why so many video games sites have become full of gambling and casino stories, unusual author images, and, most recently, the use of AI. We've connected these sites to Clickout Media. Here's what we've learned.
Thompson's The Price seems too tidy on the surface but given the ocean of interiority she's been building up in Diana, I'd be shocked if it's not all setup for a future arc that emotionally devastates me (affectionately)
Then... superheoes. Full of flamboyant folks who, if allowed to transform & work their own way, were not indulgent monsters. They were *the heroes* doing good in their own way. Whose biggest fights weren't always villains or even other's acceptance but accepting their own limits without self-hatred.
From my family to my church to so many stories, I felt like a monster growing up for struggling to do 'good', in all its shifting meanings over time. What brought me joy was 'wrong', from eating to dressing differently.
(though in fairness, her Birds of Prey run already did that)
*Slowly* catching up. Behind on Thompson's Absolute Wonder Woman but I wrapped the maze & The Price. Little gets me as emotional as truly facing the weight of doing good & its beauty when you do. Same spark that draws me to the best of Superman. This is how I become a WW (& Thompson) fan for life.
somehow my wife's first concert and think she's spoiled now
cannot believe i saw akira yamaoka play βi want it that wayβ by the backstreet boys
everything sucks EXCEPT for Yamaoka shredding for a couple hours tonight
there are so many dorks are at the Yamaoka concert and i feel so safe going to the bathroom here
feels a lil' unhinged to do Silent Hill 2 couples cosplay for the Akira Yamaoka concert
My latest for DC.com: on African DC heroes, and the historic βAfrica Syndromeβ in media of conflating dozens of distinct nations into a single continent.
Death Stranding. Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges and Guillermo del Toro/Jesse Corti as Deadman. The caption reads, βFuck America.β
