Read me gush over Barry Windham, who is the best wrestler of 1988, turning heel and setting up what should've been an all time run as a main event star.

I am a big follower of the idea that Lex Luger was underrated in the ring in WCW/NWA. But I totally see the levels difference between him and someone like Barry Windham when compared, particularly when they are a team in 1988.
The Castagonoli vs Ricochet match bombing is as good as a time as any to say that Claudio Castagonoli run in AEW has done nothing for me. He's actually been quite boring against some good opponents. And he's also blander than ever, just more serious.
AEW Full Gear 2024 Partial Review

#AEW Moxley vs OC:
This was looking to be a great match with a consistent story told, great performances and a credible match structure UNTIL the strike exchange restart which transitioned the match into an over the top AE like finish and mutliple angles which diluted the one before it. Shame. 3.5
#AEW Ospreay vs Fletcher:
Ospreay vs Fletcher was conceptually confused with the stories turning from a heated former friends fight to a workrate challenge from one moment to the next. Emotionally unsure, conceptually disjointed. 3
#AEW Hangman vs White:
The pacing of the match really let this down. The work was good and the selling around the legs was particularly strong, even if it wasn't perfect otherwise. But the pacing was slow and sluggish and the fans really didn't respond to the drama of the match. ***1/4
#AEW Mone vs Statlander:
I think Statlander is good but she is pretty bland and compared to the much more dynamic Mone, I couldn't help but be unmoved by her despite her solid performance. Mone reminded me why she is the greatest US Women's wrestler ever though. So great. ***1/2
#AEW MJF vs Strong:
MJF's cartoon sensibilities were somewhat muted in this match in contrast to the usual series Strong (within the ring). His selling was good and the work on the hand, while not constant, provided key moments in the match. Strong was fluid and solid as always. Good match. ***1/4
AEW Full Gear 2024 Bleated Thread:
This might be out of date come Saturday because of the 500 matches that will be announced last minute, but Full Gear's card looks pretty decent. There are at least 4 matches I'm interested in, compared to the usual number. I'll probably skip the Swerve and Tag title match and check out the rest #AEW
2024 Movie Thread Through The End Of the Year
People clowned Jonah/Bronson Reed for going back to WWE after being non entity the first time, but they seemed to have made him an actual player tbf. Well done on bucking expectations, I guess.
Bryan Danielson - Firm Leader
Gunther - Closer than the rest
Zack Sabre Jr
Sami Zayn
Oliveira vs Chandler was an amazing fight. So technically impressive and one-sided yet full of high drama. I knew it was going the full five rounds but Chandler's little flurry at the end had me believing.

About me as a wrestling fan:
I'm a staunch anti modern = better. Better is better - old or new.
I enjoy every style of wrestling (techincal, brawling, high impact moves) but I detest an extended elbow exchange. I will not budge on that.
My current #GWE top 3 are: Kobashi, Kawada and Tenryu.
WWE: Gunther. Been a fan of his since the wXw days. Sami Zayn, Sheamus and Randy Orton have been my go-to people to watch also in 2024.
AEW: He's on hiatus with a fake retirement but Danielson. Consider Darby, Christian, Jay White too.
And I don't care for TNA...so N/A
