British governance has been so debased by the push to vibes-based authoritarianism by the media and right-wing donors that actual collaborative, deliberative governance has become impossible for many to recognise

Yes thatโ€™s a v good point on A/C units. Here - air-to-air heat pumps also get a govt subsidy now

Iโ€™ve seen figures that UK gets a bit less than half its gas from the North Sea - so the most immediate requirement is to reduce to that level. Surely we could make a dent in that if we really tried? More heat pumps in homes is slow but batteries on the grid could be fast couldnโ€™t it?

Starmerโ€™s position is entirely consistent with what he wrote about Iraq in 2003, a fact of enormous inconvenience to just about everybody currently criticising it. Happily for them, just like the entire bloody Chilcot Inquiry it is apparently very easy to ignore.

And suddenly everyone forgot about the Epstein files.

I donโ€™t care if the Cabinet changed Keir Starmerโ€™s mind on the UKs position in this war. The government I helped elect is doing its job effectively, exactly how itโ€™s meant to.

PS I donโ€™t actually believe thatโ€™s what happened though if Iโ€™m honest.

Reform's Treasurer and star of the Epstein files, Nick Candy, says he feels safer in Dubai than in London.
If I know Nick, he'd rather get bombed than pay any tax. What a patriot!

Iceland locks in on date for EU referendum | Euractiv As a member of the European Economic Area, Iceland is already aligned with much of the bloc's legislation

Just announced: Iceland has urgently moved up its referendum to join the European Union - to 29 August.

A reminder: ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in many ways already a non-voting ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ member because of the EEA. This would give them voting power to shape the laws they have to follow.

An impressive win for the Greens yesterday. The press will focus on Labour in third and go completely overboard. My view is that it takes time to fix a country and you can literally feel that just starting to happen. Labour have the time they needโ€ฆ

If youโ€™re in trouble, need help with public services or your children, going to your MP may be the only option.

A compassionate MP is who you need at one of the worst points in your life.

Always consider who youโ€™d want to sit in front of at your greatest time of need.

Whatโ€™s going on with Reform?

Admit theyโ€™re taking away workers rights

Admit theyโ€™re taking away renters rights

Admit theyโ€™re abandoning Equalities Act

Now admit theyโ€™re after your pension.

Have they gone completely mad?

Are we seeing the impact of batteries on the GB grid? The grey peak after 9am this morning is categorised by GridCarbon as โ€œotherโ€ but it seems to me it has been growing in recent years

Genuine question. What on earth are all these negative spinners going to do?

The news is positive. Facts are facts. Labour have improved our economy in well under two years.

Itโ€™s obvious. And youโ€™re looking really dumb to keep on talking our Country under Labour down.

A perfect ten from our Labour government this week.

Good news on inflation, fabulous news on the removal of online abusive images and record number of people in employment. 7 news stations in Wales too! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Problem is, Jenrick, you can go on #r4today and bemoan the state of the economy and the cost of living, you can claim to be oh so concernedโ€ฆ but we all know youโ€™re full of shit. We know you donโ€™t care. You spent years failing us as a Tory. Youโ€™ve swapped rosettes, not had a personality transplant.

Reform UK want to scrap the Equality Act and leave the ECHR. Yes, this will leave ordinary people open to being exploited by unscrupulous business owners and politicians, but my rich donors and I promise not to take advantage. Trust me, I'm a man of the people.

Many thanks to Zia Yusuf for helping us redefine 'Shadow Minister' to mean someone who isn't in the official party of Opposition, isn't even elected and whose only role is being a toxic gobshite.

Itโ€™s almost a year since we learned that Farageโ€™s girlfriend had nearly a mill Swilling around in cash to buy a house in Frinton.

In all that time not one super sleuth has found out how she had all that money.

I find that suspicious. Still.

Chris Mason-
All hail our leader Farage for making this possible.
Starmer has questions to answer blah blah.

Orbรกnโ€™s pay cheques: Reform candidate fuelled by profits from Russian oil The Reform candidate at this monthโ€™s byelection claims he wants to put Britain first, but is he still on the payroll of Viktor Orbรกnโ€™s far-right propaganda unit?

Blimey. Looks like Matt Goodwin, who seems to think the Handmaid's Tale is an instruction manual, is in the pay of an Orban think tank, funded by Russian oil money.

If this doesnโ€™t deep-six his Presidency I donโ€™t know what will.

This is vile. This is ugly.

This perpetrator must be held accountable.

No longer is this right versus left.

Itโ€™s about right versus wrong.

Americaโ€™s morality will be tested like never before in nearly 250 years.

The media need to listen.

Itโ€™s not just Labour grassroots calling for them to STFU. Itโ€™s a lot of other people besides, many who never voted for Labour.

The media have lost all credibility with most of the public.

Starmer is popular with real people seeing real improvement
