From story on Alberta journalist intimidation:
When a Globe reporter asked Ms. Smith about the story ... she said βIβm not talking about thatβ and laughed as she walked away.
In an interview with CTV later in the day, she said, βI condemn it.β

It really is the responsibility of the government, rather than a professional association. And I do believe many of those experts have been giving interviews individually in the meantime.
It's incredibly heartbreaking.
On the U.S. numbers, I do wonder if the U.S. is much higher, but it just isn't being reported.
I found the last news conference they held 10 weeks ago to be very helpful.
The Alberta Medical Association is going to reconvene its expert panel this afternoon to talk to journalists about the surge in measles cases. #ABhealth
As the Canadian Press reported last week, at least one candidate stopped doorknocking because of the threats

Coronation RCMP cautions public on online conduct during by-election County of Paintearth, Alta. - As a by-election unfolds in Eastern Alberta, the Coronation RCMP is reminding the public about the importance of respectful and lawful conduct, both in person and online. In recent days, several candidates have reported receiving negative and, in some cases, potentially threatening commentary on social media platforms. While Canadians are entitled to express their opinions, even those critical of political figures, threats or comments that cross the line into criminal conduct will be taken seriously. Uttering threats, including online or through social media, is a criminal offence under Section 264.1 of the Canadian Criminal Code. This includes threats to cause bodily harm, death, or damage to property. Individuals found making such threats may be subject to investigation and could face criminal charges. Coronation RCMP encourages all members of the public to engage respectfully during the democratic process. We also ask those affected by threatening comments to preserve evidence, such as screenshots, and report concerning incidents to police. Anyone with information or concerns is asked to contact Coronation RCMP at 403-578-3666 or call the RCMP non-emergency line at 310-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Social media comments toward candidates in the byelection of Battle RiverβCrowfoot, where Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre is running, have gotten so bad, RCMP had to issue a news release reminding people online threats are still criminal threats. #CDNpoli
Pretty wild to see the movement morphing from bitter single men to people who had marriages and children blowing it all up.
βByers said these men often want to represent themselves during divorce proceedings, animated by a perception that the family court system is biased against husbands and fathers.β
"They see this as the fight of their lives, and they're fighting the good fight on behalf of men and boys everywhereβ

After receiving a warm welcome and widespread support just 24 hours earlier, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith faced a more vocally critical and frustrated crowd in Edmonton for the second of a series of summer town halls. via @jack-farrell.bsky.social www.thestar.com/news/canada/...

He's back and has a chance to explain nationalize doesn't mean to Ottawa and said the people should get to choose how to use the oil wealth, not billionaires. (Got a cheer this time haha)
Lots of very gross comments
Premier asked the audience whether she should talk to the other premiers when they meet next week. Topic: constitutional amendments.

Alberta as we know it today simply would not exist without the millions of immigrants and refugees who built it, who loved it, and who were proud to call it home - including my grandparents and my mum. This bitter xenophobia is as unAlbertan as itβs possible to be. Iβm ashamed. Iβm disgusted.

To take the government's survey, you must watch a video for each topic.
On immigration, the video suggests Alberta stop taking refugees and take away the funding for their social programs.
