RIP Patrick, we hardly knew ye
RIP Patrick, we hardly knew ye
Fire has broken out west of Iowa City. Winds are going to make it a nightmare to put out this afternoon π #IAwx
Finally!
Iowa's worst loss of the season and didn't look great in it. The score could have been even worse if Maryland had shot better than 68% FT. Rough times.
For what it's worth, the rotisserie chicken from the viral Tribeca gourmet grocer in the article is $42. This ain't a $5 Costco thing, unfortunately.
I'm still not on board with the WSJ engagement bait framing though
I wasn't watching NBC, but did they cover up Olympic coverage fully? Or did things resume where they broke in after? Everything in prime time is tape, they could have just picked up. Would have worked the best, though local affiliates would groan a bit.
Alternatively, the Super Bowl should just be on Saturday. Everyone wins! Except the Patriots.
Finally, a Super Bowl like I remember from my childhood: lopsided and boring
Whatβs been everyoneβs favorite field goal so far
Since most of the audience wouldn't understand the lyrics, the designers of the halftime knew they had to make it visually incredible. And they nailed it.
Remember when a big chunk of the ads in the Super Bowl were crypto a few years ago? Are we going to look back on this year's AI ad glut as the same?
First time in a long time that I've sat down to a fresh week of forecasting and not been filled with dread of what's to come. Some light at the end of winter's long, dark tunnel.
Sounds too complex to think about on a Friday night for me, to be fair
I'll probably bother you about this some other time.
Looks solid! Which is what you want in a bench π Going to stain or paint?
Is there any more info about it other than the link Daryl posted? I remember seeing a slide from a presentation floating around in the last year or two. Just would like to know even more!
I just wanna feel something again
Oh I sat straight up in my chair when forecasting this afternoon
Good, I was looking forward to discussing when to chase Iowa (always)
Rice-a-Roni.
GOES satellite image via College of DuPage, using visible and infrared channels to distinguish cloud phases and ground features. Notably, dark blue is land, while green is ice/snow. That's a lot of green!
Truly the best. A fitting end to a game with those really long lightning delays.
That abomination by the Rams is up there for one of the worst special teams plays I've ever seen. And I saw this:
Something about the weather, I guess, but this certainly wasn't planned.
Meanwhile Cignetti looks like Gary Larson drew him
If this level of geomagnetic storming continues, northern lights would be visible in eastern Iowa tonight. If.
(Also dependent on clearing, which is likely after midnight but clouds are thin too)
Iowa moved into the top 10 for the first time in two years and UConn remained the unanimous No. 1 choice in The Associated Press women's basketball poll.
Up there for most absurd football things I've seen
So I've been thinking about this more and it's really pretty remarkable. Archived satellite imagery is a pain in the butt to access under most circumstances. And this basically covers all of the ABI-era in an easy-to-use thing. Bravo. IEM remains indispensable in my day-to-day life.
I'm bookmarking it. 500TB is wild!
