Info now received. Originally ringed in The Netherlands, it has been recorded in Germany, Poland and Lithuania.
We had the earliest ever at North Cave Wetlands, East Yorkshire today too.
Little Ringed Plover - terrible photo but it was great to see the first of the year at NCW, it is also our earliest ever record by some margin.
Beautiful Yellowhammer in morning sunshine - North Cave Wetlands, East Yorkshire 25/2/26
I was pleased to see the first Mediterranean Gull of the year at North Cave Wetlands today.
Thanks- I have done but didnβt find a scheme. Hopefully they will come back to me.
After a few sightings of small numbers of White-fronted Geese, it was good to really get in on the invasion today with 5 over then 116 down on North Cave Wetlands today. Any info on ringed bird appreciated

Steve Holiday has a huge repository of old reports John. Not sure what access is available. Sadly, I think our notebooks will be recycled!
@mrjamesob.bsky.social Bedford CC dealing with the bigots like an absolute boss.
Nice one Stuart
And presumably the Common Shelduck it is with was also ringed by you
Many thanks
And just to be clear, if this nightmare scenario unfolded, it would not be the racist Reform governmentβs money - it would be ours.
Would love a Malduck at NCW
Any views on this Shelduck hybrid appreciated. Seen at North Cave Wetlands 7/2/26. Only noticed later that both it and the Common Shelduck were ringed.
Smew, these 4 birds, 2 drakes, and 2 red-heads, constitutes the largest flock ever recorded at North Cave Wetlands.
It is almost 30 years since the last and only previous male was recorded on the reserve when it was present with 2 red-heads from 18/2/1996 to 25/2/1996 @northcavewet.bsky.social
And two more today at NCW - along with 2 redheads.
Two drake Smew at Tophill Low Nature 22/1/26 - one looks pristine, the other showing darker flanks.
147 Hen Harriers confirmed 'missing' or illegally killed in UK since 2018 - most of them on or close to grouse moors.
Data extracted from reports by Natural England, RSPB, HSE, various Police forces, National Wildlife Crime Unit.

Very possibly Owen. Nice looking bird
This aythya hybrid was on D reservoir Tophill Low today. I think it may be a Pochard x Ferruginous - views welcome.
Male Black Grose on a dry stone wall
Female Black Grouse hunkered down
Male Red Grouse against a frosty background
Nice to see so many Grouse in North Yorkshire today. 19 Black and 60+ Red. No raptors other than one Kestrel in what look perfect habitat for BoP.
North Cave Wetlands, YWT reserve in East Yorkshire
Starlings leaving their roost at NCW 7/12/25 - great spectacle
About 80,000 Starlings leaving their Reed-bed roost early this morning
Goosander have been hard to see at NCW this year so a party of three today, these two and a female were welcome. Apparently the immature is this yearβs bird - I am surprised how advanced it is.
Red crested Pochard at NCW today. This bird hides well on Crosslands Lake.
This Jack Snipe was found on our reserve using a thermal imaging camera. Great to see and record it without disturbance.
