Thanks, wouldn't have been able to do it without everything A&M taught me as a scientist!
For sure, we'll definitely have to catch up!
Thanks Alicia!! π
Thanks Brad, appreciate the kind words! π
Thanks Todd - see you in few weeks for the VORTEX-USA workshop!
Thanks Katharine, I'm excited for this next journey!
Thanks!! Excited to join the department and reunite with @montanaeb.bsky.social - we'll fill it with Aggies one by one π
Thanks Kim!! π₯°
Thanks Jessie!!
Thanks Bruce!! π₯°
Thanks Eddie!! Are you going to be at the Madison Summit?
Thanks Jeremy! Going to miss Norman & NSSL, but excited for this next adventure π
Thanks James, I'm super excited to get started!!
Thanks Tim!!
I'm forever grateful to all those Iβve come to know along the way (especially at @tamuatmo.bsky.social and NSSL), as well as my friends and family. As I move onto this next chapter, Iβm excited to bring my passion for severe storms research, teaching, and community to UND DAS students! βοΈπ§βπ«π€ (2/2)

I'm ecstatic to announce that I will be joining the UND Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences this fall as an Assistant Professor! This huge milestone is the culmination of a dream over a decade in the making - one that's taken me across 3 (soon 4) states, 3 degrees, and 2 postdoctoral experiences... (1/2)
Join us as we explore recent advances in the ways we approach microphysical parameterization in high impact weather modeling. Abstracts are currently due March 19. Please consider submitting and/or sharing this opportunity with your professional networks! (2/2) βοΈ
Though AMS Annual is still fresh in our minds, the abstract deadline for deadline for the @ametsoc.org Madison Summit is rapidly approaching. With that in mind, I'm excited to share our joint session hosted between @ams-sls-stac.bsky.social & Cloud Physics! (1/2) βοΈπ§οΈβοΈ
Thanks James, sure thing! If you DM me a good email, I can send along PDFs.
With AMS over, I'm excited to share that my recent QLCS modeling work has been posted in its final form in AMS MWR! This study builds on prior work, showing how line-parallel shear plays a critical role in modulating inflow vorticity and QLCS updraft forcing βοΈ

And in a blink, another AMS has come & gone! From getting an Editor's Award, to sharing new research, and reconnecting with countless friends - the week was a joyful whirlwind. With each passing year, I hold onto these moments a little longer, thankful for the folks I get to share this field with β€οΈ
For all my QLCS enthusiasts, come see my poster this afternoon (going on now until 4:30), synthesizing some recent project to reassess how we look at bow echoes within the context of mesovortex formation! πͺοΈ
3. Stop by my poster this afternoon at 3 PM (Hall B3) revisiting the role bow echoes play in QLCS mesovortexgenesis.
Class dismissed! π¨βπ«

π¨ QLCS fanatics attending AMS, here's your daily homework (1/2):
1. Attend @drkelsbritt.bsky.social's talk @ 2:00 PM (381A) about her innovative work creating a QLCS mesovortex forecast framework in the Warn-On-Forecast System.
2. Go read her related paper (doi.org/10.1175/WAF-...)

Merging subjectively-analyzed NWS forecast criteria w/ new QLCS theory, this approach shows promise in identifying mesovortex-favorable segments with 2+ hours of lead time! Though this work is still in early stages, I'm thrilled to see ambitious R2O projects like these come to fruition! (2/2) πͺοΈ
Ecstatic to share that our newest QLCS work led by @drkelsbritt.bsky.social has hit EOR on AMS WAF! What started as "crazy idea" has evolved into something that could be a game-changer β probabilistic forecasts of QLCS mesovortex tornado potential in WoFS (1/2)
