Regardless of where we live or how we vote, extreme weather puts us all at risk: and we know, without a shadow of a doubt, climate change is making it worse.
To build resilience, we need more data, more expertise, more preparation, more communication to keep people safeโNOT LESS!
More from me:
After this weekendโs deadly Texas floods, many are asking: what made this storm so extreme โ and what role did climate change play?

Oh Katharine, why canโt you just give up and quit inspiring people to preserve all we hold dear? ๐ค
The Senate passed its version of the budget reconciliation bill today. While this version of the text does remove the tax on future wind and solar projects, it still features harmful weakening of clean energy tax credits.
Now, the bill moves to the House. Tell your Rep to vote no!
This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced โ itโs the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Blueskyโs limits)
I've had the BBC on an hour and I've already heard the anchors discuss climate change twice โ once in a whole explainer connected to the heat wave currently pounding the UK and EU and once in the coverage of the private jets flying to the Sanchez-Bezos wedding.
Why can't we have this in the US? ๐ญ
The Senate is scheduled to begin voting on the final budget reconciliation bill tomorrow โ including a phaseout of Americaโs clean energy tax credits. We need to flood the Senate with calls now urging a โNOโ vote.

So many beautiful souls lost. Absolutely heartbreaking for India and the UK ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฌ๐ง
If my husband and I start to get irritated with each other, my six-year-old darts to the light switch, flickers it on and off and announces: โThe ghost doesnโt like it when you fight.โ
Beautiful!
The UK is on course for another very poor harvest thanks to hot, dry conditions. When I ask climate researchers what they fear most, the invariable answer is "multiple harvest failures".

Extremely powerful from @natashadevon.bsky.social. In the UK, far more women are joining the Green party than men are joining Reform. Yet the media narrative is that it is Reform that is ascendant.
โThe data center industry is booming all over,โ and utilities across the country are polluting more to meet data center energy demands, all when scientists agree that cutting fossil fuel emissions is more urgent than ever.

My beautiful old St Louis neighborhood and the park where my husband proposed to me got hit hard by a tornado ๐ Scary how so many of us are seeing places we love devastated by weather extremes. Thinking of all impacted in #STL

Thank you, @matthewthall.bsky.social for the article. I live in Greenwood and I wouldn't have known this occurred if it weren't for reading your piece in @thestate.com.

Announced yesterday: "Federal scientists will no longer update a list of weather disasters that cause billions of dollars in damage."
Ignoring the problem doesn't solve it.
Even without a formal list, the impacts of these disasters will still be devastating. www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025...

This photograph captures Sir David Attenborough seated outdoors on the rugged terrain of Skomer Island. Behind him, the ocean and coastal cliffs form a scenic backdrop under a clear sky. Sir David, dressed in a khaki jacket and light trousers, looks towards the camera with a gentle expression, exuding a sense of warmth, calm, and wisdom. Around him, puffins can be seen flying and perched on the rocky ground, illuminated in rays of golden sunlight as the sun sets behind the cliffs.
Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. ๐
Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace.
You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.
It's bad enough to ignore the problem of climate change.
It's also bad to disrupt work on a report *required by Congress.*
It may still come out, but it's unclear โwhether it is going to reflect credible science & be of real use to [...] prepare for climate change.โ

Yesterday I covered a 100-person rally *supporting* offshore wind in NYC.
