I think it’s difficult for me to embrace things with seriousness. I have aimed so long and so hard at a certain type of life I had to mentally reject sincerity outside of it. I still find myself telling people I’m fooling around instead of having meaningful thoughts and feelings.

I’m not sure about the perspective that art is relaxing or some kinda of escape from pressures. I always see artists much more accomplished, professional and all around better than me crashing out, and that doesn’t deter me from saying those are the people I wanna be.

It’s fascinating to see the same people rant about how absolutely horrible Marvel movies have been gush about how AI made Hulk vs Wolverine is ending cinema.

I always felt there was a divide in the mainstream perception of what comics is from what they actually are. If you go to events, especially indie events, no one is even hiding, this is a very visibly LBGTQ environment. The one thing Conservatives are RIGHT about is comics exposed me to the gay.
