Join People Not Politicians on March 10 at the Missouri Supreme Court as justices hear arguments in Luther v. Hoskins, a case challenging the legislature's unconstitutional gerrymandering outside the Census cycle.
We need progressive representation in county and state government. If you are considering stepping into public leadership, please let us know and we can put you in contact with folks who can answer any questions you have and offer other support. Deadlines are approaching!
Save the date. We'll be having a protest in Harrisonville again.
We are considering organizing Signs of Fascism actions ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK8f...) throughout Cass County and possibly Bates County also when it warms up. If you would like to see a Signs of Fascism action in your town, please complete this Google Form:

If you can't make it to Jefferson City Wednesday for the Fight Trump's Power Grab and Protect Democracy rally, be sure to email or call your state legislators.
It's official--Kehoe called a special session to redraw Missouri's congressional districts and make initiative petitions harder to enact. We hope to see you at the protest in Kansas City on Labor Day and in Jefferson City on September 10th. If you want to carpool to either protest, let us know.
Voters should pick their leaders - not the other way around. Come show Trump, Governor Kehoe, and Missouri legislators that we are not going to let them silence our voices.
If you're in Harrisonville and want to carpool to the rally, let us know. As of now there are two spots open in a vehicle.
"All of us, whether we're Democrats, Independents, or Republicans, should stand up to politicians who don't want to face accountability at the ballot box....If Republican policies are popular, why do they need to redraw these maps? Why can't they just run on their policies?" -James Talarico

Quote from Alford in response to a question about equity, diversity, and inclusion at KCUR's recent Q&A: "I believe in equality. I don't believe in equity. If you don't understand the difference, that's the problem." 🙄
You can watch the Q&A here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1_c...
"We’ll be gathering peacefully at 5:30 PM on the sidewalks around Memorial Station in Belton to show our dissent, not to disrupt, but to stand visibly and peacefully for what we believe in."
Hope to see you Monday, June 16th!
For Cass Countians who don't want to head to KC or Overland Park for this week's No Kings protests, there is also a protest in Lee's Summit on Saturday from 10 am to noon.

The special guests at last week's Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner at the Blue Springs Elks Lodge, which was attended by Congressman Alford, Missouri state Sen. Joe Nicola, and other area Republicans? January 6 rioters, including two Proud Boys.
Sounds about right for Missouri. Anyone else feel like Rep. Alford, Senator Schmitt, and AG Bailey seem to be confused about their roles and think they're on Trump's PR team?
