Is the Transit Accessibility Center open on MLK, Jr. day? I want to get my senior transit pass.

So messed up.
The comments are worth reading too.
No I don't want "humane" deportations, for the same reason I don't want "friendly" cops in schools or "understanding" genital inspectors at sporting events.
The problem is the fascism, not that the fascism is rude.
Well done, NYC! Well done. Let's see how it plays out with RCV--but I think it is pretty likely that Mamdani is the nom.
GOOD!!! It's about time. Earn your fucking seats every day or lose them.
Go figure...
Staten Island is "woke" I guess.
I've been working with Olivia and Cara since we launched the Barbed Wire and they're both excellent journalists with unimpeachable integrity. They did not deserve to have to deal with this: www.cjr.org/feature-2/we...
Glad you were able to get it. I didn't and ruined my 111 day streak.
We've been saying this was coming. It was only a matter of time.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. So maybe people aren't as healthy as they could be. But what he's doing is NOT about that. And folks suggesting he is right as if he is onto something does more harm than good.
I think the part where Trump brags about Doge and thanks Musk would be a good time to make a stink and get kicked out.
It is interesting! And interesting stuff makes the news. It would be good if more Dems were interested in making news to draw attention to the crisis we're in.
After Al Green they should keep fighting to get kicked out first, not this weak shit.
Oh, now we're dragging people out of the SOTU.
Democrats, your job is not to be quieter because Al Green got dragged out. It's your job to get LOUDER.
This is the appropriate response for tonight. Why any dem would attend I cannot understand.
Since we started the Elon Musk boycott, Tesla shares have dropped nearly 26% in the last month. Remember, donβt buy anything Elon.
βAre you going to mask forever?β
I donβt knowβ¦ are you planning to spread Covid forever?
Masking keeps people healthy. Itβs necessary because as a society weβve refused to do anything to reduce airborne spread. It protects the wearer and those around them. Easy choice!
I wish more people knew this. I wonder if members of congress know this. I'm not optimistic about that.
Love them. They're my designated bookshop on Bookshop dot org. So happy for them!
Did you know that @desireeadaway.bsky.social has a kid who is the creator of so many of those great ads about women in sports? So brilliant!
Great. This thread is about members of congress and what they aren't doing to resist trump and musk. Read the original posts.
State, city reps not what I think most of us are referring to. In my state they have been fantastic. Federal: some are fighting back but most aren't. And Schumer and Jeffries are a joke.
Honestly, they will never be the ones to save us. We care for each other and keep each other safe.
Some examples:
Vote no on everything. Judges. Every single appointment. That many have voted yes is deeply disturbing.
Repeatedly force quorum calls. They take time & repubs have to be on the floor more often.
Block every single unanimous consent call.
They've done 1 filibuster. That's it.
The point of this thread is that the dems aren't doing what they could/should to block/slow down elon/trump to support the people.
I found this when I searched...but found very little coverage that said anything terribly positive or impactful. Seems like it was almost a non event... thehill.com/policy/techn...
Not really. Sadly, I still do watch the news. So it's not like I would miss it if it was covered. And so maybe we need more pressure on the press to cover stories. They are part of the problem.
And which elected folks showed up to support those protests to help bring about more coverage?
That's off the top of my head as someone who isn't steeped in understanding of what they could do. There is certainly more I haven't thought of. It's a long list.
