Also, I don’t have an answer for how to fix this. I imagine it’s a lot of little changes we have to make that add up slightly larger changes.
And we need to start saying “no thank you” to other people and start saying “yes please!” to ourselves
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from years of mental health struggles it’s this:
Burnout is real and most of us don’t have the tools to process and address it. Most of us just do not know how to care for our bodies, brains, and spirit. We don’t nurture ourselves because we don’t know how.
My surgery went well. I'm on day 3 of recovery. I still have openings in my editing and beta reading calendar. The world is depressing. I'm trying to figure out how to survive and keep a roof and food on the table. My kiddo doesn't deserve going without. I should be writing but so much huge emotional shit has happened in the week leading up to my surgery that I'm just a ball of tears. I don't have much hope atm. Yet somehow, I persist.
It was too long and I'm processing and healing and too tired to shorten it.

Surgery in the morning. Doing housework I haven't been able to get done due to helping my daughter pack and move.
I'm wiped out.
Thing 3 has been alright, one kid is sure easier than three. Lol. Wild.
I'm already tired but I'm gonna keep working at the housework until it's done.
