In Schneepart (1968โ69), Paul Celan rebuilds language amid the upheavals of 1968 and Europeโs haunted past. After his parentsโ deaths in labor camps, his reinvented German made this book - later called his โstrongest and boldestโ - an act of defiance and memory.
