Bodycam video contradicts ICE claims in fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas Video of last year's fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez obtained by CBS News appears to contradict claims that Martinez was shot by an ICE agent because he "accelerated" and "intentionally ran over"...

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."

But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."

Ha! Indeed. We actually had a Romeo the Rooster visit us a few times back in the day. He was courting a hen who had escaped her humans and taken up residence in the blue spruce outside our older kid’s window. We ended up with a half-dozen backyard chickens a few weeks later.

With every new development in this story I am even more gobsmacked that Epstein and his co-conspirators escaped accountability over and over and over again. There's more to come from my investigation. Stay tuned.

Whether in Iraq when Putin put bounties on U.S. military heads, or now in Iran when Putin is helping Iran kill Americans, Trump and the Republican Party continue to love Putin.

Someday soon can we have an American President and Congress that don't love people who kill American servicemembers?

Exactly right.

The Civil Rights Division was able to show that it took exhaustive (and exhausting) work to litigate even the most obvious violations of the voting rights protections in the 1957 and 1960 acts, which ultimately convinced Congress and then SCOTUS that a much broader law was needed.

Here’s my angry political rant for day: tax billionaires out of being billionaires, abolish ICE and DHS, and slash military spending—put that money into Healthcare for all, free higher education, and and UBI.

Stock market tanking again today and oil *way* up. What's crazy is Trump could've just rode out the current regression to the mean on inflation, combined with an apparent productivity boom. Instead, did the opposite of econ 101: kicked out workers, reduced immigration, started wars of choice.

Today's Word: Apophenia
Definition: The tendency to perceive meaningful connections or patterns in random or unrelated data, this term is often linked to human pattern recognition and conspiracy theories. Remember, coincidences are not only possible, they are a mathematical certainty.

The reason they’re called human rights is all human beings have them. If you’re talking about the supposed exclusive rights of the herrenvolk you should use another term or just switch to German entirely.

Working on a q&a lecture for a class today: The story of robots is always a story about slavery. The story of LLMs labeled as AI is a story about class, and which humans pay the cost, including the physical toll on their bodies/minds, and the lack of water and electricity, so data centers can exist.

It is so damning of US news media that so many outlets refuse to just straight up say that Senator Tim Sheehy assaulted an activist.

He did not "help" Capitol police. They did not need his help. He wanted to assault the guy and did. He should resign.

Reminder that the US military budget is larger than the military spending of the next nine largest countries combined.

Over half goes to private defense contractors.

This is the military-industrial complex Eisenhower warned of — on steroids.

While the McDonald’s CEO gets roasted for his awkward burger taste test...

McDonald’s is among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

And McDonald's CEO recently raked in $18.2M — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

That should leave a bad taste in your mouth.
