This sounds like someone thought “Stryker” meant they were some kind of war parts manufacturer.

The ignorant responses to this are sending me. Can we finally retire the stupid “clowns are evil/ventriloquist dummies are scary/ew mimes!” baby bullshit.

I mean a lot of mass-market books are printed in China due to lower costs, but that’s not illegal, China is one of the US’s biggest trade partners, how is anyone still convinced by this ignorant bullshit?

“There all made in China?” “I hope…they’re not written in Chinese also”? What is this ignoramus talking about?

many other supposedly sincere, convincing gestures.
Anyway please remember people like Tate or Epstein are only ever one among many. There's always more where that came from.

was just a lucky a friend did some internet sleuthing and found out the guy was wanted in connection with trafficking in one country, and was associated with an 'escort service' in another. He did the classic love bombing stuff, and it nearly worked. He even got on a video call with her parents and

I've come to understand many things about how human nature enables self-sabotage. I'd still find it incomprehensible that anyone could get conned into being sex trafficked by Andrew Tate if I didn't personally know of a young woman who was nearly taken in by a Tate-wannabe on a trip to Europe. She

“literary canon is used as a means to establish ideological hegemony and the education system treats students as passive vessels!”
thats true, you may be interested in what brazilian marxists had to say about-

“dont gatekeep writing by saying people should read” this, “our new ai helps make hard books easy!” that. theres a reason the most successful literacy programs were all socialist.

Oh my god you are so dense. A person who doesn’t read anything longer than a caption on tiktok will not be able to write anything that anyone ELSE will want to read. That is REALITY, THAT is the gate that is locked, I will not unlock it, no one will, you can cry and scream all you like.

The publishing industry's lack of confidence in authors and its own ability to create careers for them is pathetic and, in the end, self-defeating.

I just like to see where I’m going, the lack of headaches and anxiety resulting in me being pleasant to get along with is just a bonus.

Are you talking about typing as an exercise. Everyone else here is talking about writing as a process of coming up with a story, book, or essay that they presumably want other people to read.

11.03.2026 11:40 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I'm sure someone has already pointed it out, but if you're a writer, why would you want people to read even less? So they can go watch TV instead of read your books?

In theory, I think the democratisation of criticism is a good thing. In principle it’s tainted by people who don’t bother to learn anything about what they’re reviewing, and are mostly looking for freebies

Photo of wren. Description from ebird: ‘A medium-sized, uniformly-colored wren found in the subtropical zone of the Andes from Colombia to northern Peru. Plain brown overall with dark barring on wings and tail. Similar to Rufous Wren, but duller brown and typically found at lower elevations. Occurs from around 1,500-2,500m. Small parties forage in the understory of cloud forest, often around bamboo thickets. Can be skulky and difficult to see well. Sometimes follows mixed-species flocks. Listen for the harsh chattering calls.’

A charming #Egyptian drawing of a #cat acting as a servant to a #mouse. Drawings of animals acting as people were meant as satire of the society and politics.
Dating 13th/12th century BC, probably from Deir el-Medina, #Egypt.
