I don't know how it's taken me so long, but I've finally realised that being authentic as an artist is ALL that matters.
No more constantly looking at other 'successful' peoples' art and judging my own. I've had my own style all along - my place in the world. It's time to revel in it.

New digital art.
Making these artworks is my 'safe space' when my mental health is challenging. When I can't focus on any other kind of art, I start to sort through my 1000s of digital photos and pick some to combine into new art.
People tell me I'm miserable when I moan all summer about the heat. There are actually people who PAY to go somewhere hot! Can you believe it?
I'm hibernating till the autumn.
This is also the story of my life. I despise my adhd side for his unorganised, chaotic way of life. Autistic me wants everything in a box with a label.

Thankyou Ongajin. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. I tried sertraline 25 years ago and it ruined me. I've been off meds for decades now. I survive from burnout to burnout by making my art. It's my crutch of sorts.

I'm still learning to let go and just allow the art to happen. After decades of being a perfectionist, this isn't easy for me, but I'm slowly loosening up to the abstract.

2 things I've noticed after my first week of trying to produce video content for all my socials (because stills don't count for anything anymore).
1. Shooting video takes so much time.
2. Editing video takes so much time and is unbearably tedious.
Got to be done though if I ever want to break thru
I have a massive fear of open water and that triggers ALL my anxiety at once!

I'm not usually one for deep meanings to my art but this one is significant because I've felt blocked by my own mental health struggles for decades. I can see the door, even the light shining from the cracks, but I simply can't unlock my potential.

I'm 51 today so I designed myself a birthday card.
Current mood....
Fire features a lot in my art. I think it's because my brain feels like it's burning 24/7. I also like the colours.
I'm going through a particularly bad period of anxiety right now and making these abstract digital artworks is pretty much the only thing giving me any joy.
Any shares or likes are always a nice boost to my confidence.
You can tell the mood I'm in right now by the darkness of my art.
This one is a particularly somber one.
