A side profile (facing left) of a mourning dove all fluffed up with ruffled feathers lying down on a sunflower seed feeder.
I love this mourning dove - all fluffed up and showing us one of his best #SideProfiles on the sunflower seed feeder a couple of weeks ago. #BirdOfTheDay #BackyardBirds πͺΆ

Photo of a 5x7 watercolor print sitting atop a white bubble mailer. It is a vibrant celebration of reds and yellows and depicts three of the honeycreeper species found in Hakalau Forest NWR on the island of Hawaii. The birds pictured are l'iwi, Hawai'i 'Akepa, and 'Akiapolaβau.
The monthly bird trading cards have arrived and this monthβs accompanying art piece might be one of my favorites! It features 3 honeycreepers found in Hakulau Forest NWR in Hawaii set against the vibrant Κ»ΕhiΚ»a lehua tree.

What a beautiful speckled outfit on this king snake. #HerpInTheGrass
π I put on gloves regardless of where I touch them. It's so hard to get rid of the smell. Lol.

Don't you just want to BOOP this cutie, even if it does leave a stinky foul smell of musk on your hands?
So sad that they lost the historic building.

Carolina jessamine was blooming all up & down the trails yesterday. I love their perky trumpet-shaped yellow flowers ... And so did the bumblebees. But be careful. All parts of the plant are poisonous and contain neurotoxins harmful to people and pets. πΏ

Awww, mom. Do I hafta get out of the tub?
I love her sleigh ride paintings.
Y'all are going to be so enchanting all glammed up in those beautiful dresses.
Got home from hiking just in time to watch my friend's son play sled hockey for USA paralympics and score an assist on a goal. Declan is playing for his 4th gold medal. Woohoo! ππ₯
π€£ you're cray-cray. π€£
A vagabond snow bunting was identified as far south as Merritt Island NWR near Cape Canaveral, FL, in December 2024. π€ͺ
π
It didn't just identify one once. It showed up on 2 separate lists! Crazy! π
One of the lists of suggested birds we heard on our hike.
Dear Merlin,
Go home. You're drunk!

At Old Soul Donuts, but instead of donuts, I tried their homemade bacon, cheese, and egg biscuit, as well as their sausage, cheese, and egg biscuit before our hike. Dee-lish-us! #SouthrenGirl #GRITS
The ACOE has a horrible record on its dredge projects. A 2013 Miami Port dredge that the ACOE estimated would kill 3.3 acres of coral ended up killing 278 acres of coral reef - gone forever - per a 2023 NOAA report.

How wonderful! I have loved having so many bluebirds (from 1 family) throughout the winter. Can't wait to see if my current pair are going to nest in my backyard house before The Interloper tries to snag their house again this year.
I bet you were. It's so unique, too.
Yep. Yesterday a gallon of regular gas was $3.49. Today, it's $2.49. Someone please explain what happened to cause the price to drop a dollar a gallon. #FreakyFriday
That looks so delicious! I can almost taste it here across the pond.............almost.
Love the spider and web quilting design. It's a wonderful quilt, Becky!
Thank you! I'm glad you like my birds. Most of them are taken through #MyDirtyKitchenWindow or my birdfeeder cam. :) I'm definitely an amateur....with an old Canon SureShot camera or my phone camera.
