It's the first time I got to work on a project of this scale, and I'm immensely happy and proud of it all! The feeling of seeing my own work on the shelves of bookshops all around France is indescribable π₯Ή
Cover work for the French novel Jusqu'au plus profond des astres, which features several illustrations: on the cover, a man and a woman, Linus, a 30 or so years old slim and lanky man, with dusty brown hair, pale skin and glasses, and Lucia, about the same age, with long curly and deep brown hair, tan skin and brown eyes. They're face to face but Linus facing up while Lucia is upside down, floating and merging into the starry sky. Their expressions are sad and forlorn. Back cover is Linus' astronomy tower and desk, empty of human presence but full of many astrophysics instruments laying around. And the sprayed edge is of a third character, Diana, with curly red hair although shorter than Lucia, freckles and green eyes, and a tiny red mouse on her shoulder. She's holding up a single candle, exploring a manor. A certain covers half of her face, but with the transparency, that half looks like Lucia's face. The artistic direction is fitting with a dark academia aesthetic, and the color palette used is a lot of deep blue, purple, but also oranges and sandy tones.
I didn't share it here yet, but this year's career highlight of mine was that I got to officially illustrate the full cover of a lovely novel, Jusqu'au plus profond des astres π«
