Hey Magnus, I’m running a rapid and blitz tournament tomorrow at my club. It’s an hour from NYC. Jeans allowed just fyi.

For anyone that says a World Championship match without Magnus is uninteresting, I disagree.

From my few times doing commentary I can say it’s very hard to ignore and/or resist peaking. And when I do I try to give my honest unbiased first impressions and then explain why I was right or wrong.

I'm running a similar event for the first time starting next week. As a player I am very much looking forward to it. As an organizer I can say it is very hard to get enough participants to make it worthwhile financially.

I got to surprise my opponent after they tried 1.Rb7+. The quickest path to mate after 1.Rb3 is also fun.
