They'd beat us with ten men. A team with belief and a plan. What I'd give for that right now.

Second observation: this Wrexham team would beat the current Spurs team.
Forward muscle is important; it's a key strength for England, providing a solid base. However, another main strength is also their weakness - too many players to chose from leading to constant changing. They need to settle on a strategy and select players that fit. A common issue for Spurs fans!
I think he focused too much on the law change around escort runners, which worked initially. What was the plan after that? Everyone else has caught up and now what is our plan?
I've never been a big fan of Borthwick, but the past year made me reconsider. However, he's primarily a defensive, low-risk coach focused on set pieces and kicking. England can be better than that. Look at Scotland. You can't tell me England doesn't have the players to play as they do - only better.
My one takeaway from the Wrexham v Chelsea game so far: Wrexham are 100% beating us home and away in the Championship next season.
Fuck me. I have to stop watching sports for my mental health. Admittedly, it's mostly Tottenhamβs fault, but England Rugby aren't helping. π€¬
Anyone who considers it is not a fan. As I posted last night: bsky.app/profile/mark...
In fact, I can recommend hiking. It's basically just walking, but it's very good for the soul. I'm lucky that I live by the coast and I head out with a few mates every Friday for a couple of hours. Will probably do longer at the weekend on my own too.
That's all I've got right now.
I believe this to my core.
And I also cannot believe that image was less than a year ago.
Alcohol?
This is why I can't see us getting out of this. The players have forgotten how to play football. Frank had them believe in percentage football, which was basically about winning second balls and set pieces. The problem is, we're not even good at that.
We may have never gone one better than 2nd because it's massively difficult in the most competitive league in the world. What we actually did was go backwards. We didn't back our best manager of recent times and instead thought that Mourinho would be the βmagic managerβ to fix it. Repeat ad nauseam.
I think it's both. At the time we were finishing 2nd or reaching the UCL final, we missed the opportunity to go one better. That's had a knock on effect now. We had an opportunity to kick on this summer too and Levy chose a big step backwards.
I'm not so sure. Despite the injuries, we shouldn't be where we are, so there are many problems to fix outside the team. We're in a downward spiral on and off the pitch, which is mad for a club in the last 16 of the Champions League.
A little teaser of what I'm writing. This is based purely on current players without new signings. Two teams, the first more hopeful, the second maybe more realistic. A lot of youth players like Byfield backing this up.
I'm writing an article on this which I hope to post soon. I can't see Kulu, Vuskovic, even Danso staying because of wages and career progression reasons. Archie yes, Lucas and Tel maybe. I'd imagine weβll extend Vuskovicβs loan, not sure a year in the Championship would be good for his progression.
That's a photo of hundreds of thousands of fans celebrating our Europa league winβ¦but you knew that anyway. Maybe have some sympathy as a Leeds fan. You've been there.
Yeah, but there were other games too. Before the injuries hit last season, we thrashed Villa 4-1 and Man City 4-0 and were in touch with the CL spots. There were at least some signs of what we could be. He handled that period horribly and made mistakes, but it was 100% better than this season.
To all Spurs fans. Just remember, weβre the best fans in the world and will outlast every player and staff member at the club. Things will get better, and weβll be there no matter what. π #COYS
I could at least see something to believe in. When we were good we were superb. Did it happen often enough? No. Was he too stubborn? Yes. But I believed in the football and I wanted to see how it worked when he had the squad to actually do it. Maybe I'm a romantic, but I'd rather that than this.
He's not blameless. You don't get in this mess without multiple people fucking up. I just find the shifting of blame from Levy to Vinai very short-sighted. Levy built this iteration of Spurs, for good and for bad. Anyway, let's not argue, life as a Spurs fan is hard enough right now. π
Levy sacked him because he would have demanded what this squad needed: top-level, expensive first-team signings to avoid a repeat of the injury crisis. He thought Frank would be the cheaper option - his tenure in a nutshell. Even though I was half joking, at least Ange united the players.
I wish I had your confidence. Wet Sham and Forest look head-and-shoulders better than us right now. How are we going to get our next win? I just can't see it. I really hope I'm wrong and you're right but, for the first time, I think we're going down.
Every game reaches a new nadir. You think it can't get worse, but it inevitably will. I can't remember a worse Spurs team, and I've seen Gary Doherty play up front. I've seen worse players, but not a worse team.
Tel was ok but the bar is so low it's on the floor. Gray the only player who can consistently hold his head up high this season.
You could list 1000 decisions like this that have led to where we are. #deathby1000cuts
If we can take one positive from tonight, it's that your daughter is likely a genius and knows far more about football than anyone at Spurs.
