fuckall nerf to sblast, l3 with the most bizarre change I've ever seen, yet another explosion radius buff, some degenerate snowballing mechanic, yet another change to the core game that favours shooters, and health bars that look like they just enabled a dev command. "spicy" is one word for it.
like I know it's just a translation but why the fuck are we saying that L3 should "proactively approach its opponents"?
are we actually fucking serious? have you played this fucking game? god forbid a weapon moves laterally in this game. hold forwards you miserable fucks or your gun gets nerfed
In other words, if you picked machine, you'd fight either other machines, or terrible guns that made it a 4v3. If you picked splash, you'd fight something competent like a splattershot, keeping win rates more even. It's also, I suspect, why we had those random buffs and nerfs to mini splatling.
It's conjecture, but I'm convinced that they rely mostly on X Rank data. And I'm not sure that they account for their own matchmaking algorithm. That's why shooters don't get nerfed; their matchmaking pools are too large. Meanwhile Machine died because its matchmaking pool was all shit weapons.
I'm not sure they know what these changes do. Do they think about what it means for a weapon to need 10 more special points? Do they think about extra shots, extra time spent painting, how much longer you need to live to get special? Or is it just a knob they turn when the X Rank data tells them to?
meanwhile their insistence on leaving burst bomb alone has led to pretty much every kit that has one (except l3, because that's how shit that gun is) massively overperforming at one point or another.
but by all means, slap sblast with 10 special and an aoe nerf. I'm sure that fixes the problem.
every single patch, right back to the start of the game where machine and splash were picked because they were the only competent kits on release. machine got fucking butchered because they gave it fizzy booyah and then injected all the maps with ozempic. splash didn't, because it's a shooter.
I think the thing that offends me the most about splatoon 3's patches is that the developers keep attacking degenerate playstyles that only exist because of their own failures.
"l3 is being used to spam specials" no shit. you buffed hammer in the dumbest way possible and all l3 can do is paint.
ok I know I said I'm done with splatoon and asked all of you to go away, but which dumb fuck developer did this? about the only thing l3 is good for is painting, and now we're giving that up in favour of... improving its ability to fail to kill people when you hit all three shots in a burst?
