To avoid a heart attack or serious injury, advice is to dig out in short sessions and start now while the snow is light and less heavy. Better to clear your car off before it is encased in a foot of ice.
@vanhollen.senate.gov @alsobrooks.senate.gov We know YOU are on the right side of this fight. Tell your weak and afraid colleagues to get a spine and DO THE RIGHT THING! We are in the streets while they sit in the comfort of their offices waiting for reelection. We will remember them in November!

Yes. The shooting of Renée Good was an execution-style murder: point-blank, close range, three shots to the head. The only difference is that she was not specifically targeted in a premeditated plan, but she was executed. Thank you for saying so and for your work to unite us against fascism.
CONGRATULATIONS NYC! AND VA! AND NJ! ICE BRAKERS! Now let's continue to journey forward!
I read it all. @radiofreetom.bsky.social put scariest part at the top: "In the space of one short announcement, he managed to get a lot wrong, which is worrisome, because he’s the only person in America who has the authority to order the use of nuclear arms." 🎁

Jon and @nancyayoussef.bsky.social discuss the importance of journalist access to military leadership, especially as troops are deployed to US cities.
(Sung to "Dancing in the Street")
They're marching in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
In New York City
Philadelphia, PA
Baltimore and D.C. now
Can't forget the Motor City
Way down in L.A., every day, they're marching in the street
Across the ocean blue, me and you (we're marching in the street)
I was listening to "Dancing in the Street" (Laura Nyro, Patti Labelle and The Bluebelles version). It's like POTUS heard the song and made a list. Here's my version:
Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
October's here and the time is right
For marching in the street
*here* not "her". (need to figure out editing on this device)
The Constitution of the United States; Article 1, Section 7. I have been posting every word but may have forgotten to post her. TO BE CONTINUED
Raskin: "It's not lost on anyone that shutting the government down allows them not swear in our new colleague, Ms Grijalva from Arizona, who would be the 218th signature to discharge the Epstein files and to put a vote on that on the House floor."
Honestly “Republicans are shutting down the government to hide the Epstein files” is pretty good messaging.
Oregon gov. says Trump troop deployment could cost taxpayers up to $10M
www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...
The public deserves to know the extent of Epstein’s abuse and to hold accountable anybody—regardless of political affiliation—who enabled it. Add your name to the petition to demand the Department of Justice and White House publicly release the files.

So, Trump is threatening a "Department of War" invasion of Chicago.
Maybe Republicans should first do something about unfettered gun running into these cities from Republican states and the fact 31 states exempt private gun sales from background checks.

Watercolor painting on paper, made from white mulberry "weed" tree, of objects found in a "vacant" lot. Lots of stories of the lives of past residents.
Watercolor painting of cigarette butts, a lost screw and matchsticks found in a so-called "vacant " lot . Paper was made from a so-called "weed" tree, white mulberry, which was imported to build silk production (silk worms feed on mulberry trees). Lots of stories in vacant lots.
Vacant lots are full of stories
I don't know why I'm even going to bother, but no it wasn't. It was hardly even brought up in the Federalist papers. The people who created the United States were almost pathologically fixated on the Roman Republic and Enlightenment-era Liberalism.
This is abhorrent.
America should not tolerate a president relishing in Pinochet-style rule over our own citizens.
Even NPR is not mentioning the march/protest in DC. But it is reporting on the Chicago march and planned resistance. Apparently, only one march can be covered by NPR. I will continue to support NPR but will depend on it less.
I expected NPR to at least mention the march in DC. Really disappointed. I will continue to support NPR and listen but will check Bluesky more frequently to get the news.
I am surprised by my own naivete in thinking that NPR would give this more coverage. The Sunday morning Weekend Edition has not mentioned the DC March. Chicago might seem more important but the idea that only one march could be reported seems like a really bad sign.
Thousands march to the White House united in our demand. We want federal forces out of DC Now!! Free DC! Free DC! #WeAreAllDC #FreeDC
