Yes, the Garlic smell is usually in the air in Gilroy! Fortunately I love garlic! Yes, it's a shame it had to come to an end because of insurance costs after the mass shooting. They do small local events now.
I know that Do Cal pretty well. I have lived in Long Beach, San Diego, and Menifee and Murrieta area in Riverside County. But I am from Gilroy, Garlic Capital of the World actually. Yes, I love it up here in this area and it's home! Good to know another California gal!
