I'm an effective altruist mainly reading and boosting posts, but occasionally I'll muse and doodle about effective altruism. I take a balanced approach, so will highlight under-represented views—my opinions will no doubt become apparent :)
∙ Temporal paradoxes with actual philosophical import (the “Outlandish Watch” that makes time run backwards)
∙ Earnest moral content mixed with logical playfulness
∙ Less successful because the metaphysical ambition sits uneasily with the logical games
One of my favorite things about Phil Collins is that before Peter Gabriel left Genesis and forced the band to search for a new lead singer, neither Phil or his bandmates realized that he was a really good singer.

Genesis auditioned a couple dozen potential replacements for Peter Gabriel as the new lead singer without finding “the guy.” At one point, Phil Collins suggested they be an instrumental band but Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford shot that idea down.
They were running out of time to find a singer.
