I'm a gamer Dad that stumbled into a career in 3D Imaging and Additive Manufacturing, and then stumbled into a job at the Natural History Museum in London! Complete accident but it's fun. Probably something to do with my ADHD...

Reason being, I love Instagram, I'm very visual and like the photos, but I do miss short text updates. Facebook is just ads and groups I don't follow so here seems to be the logical place to get back into discussions.
Ok, so it's almost 2026 and it's time for some "new year, new me" stuff. This might go against my desire to reduce my phone usage this year, but I'm also going to try and have more meaningful conversations here on BlueSky. Might work?
πΆI've got a book of matches, I've got a can of kerosene, I've got some mad ideas involving you and meπΆ
There you go, an ear worm for the rest of the day. You're welcome.
I think ironically the Orange Man baby might actually help bring more people and countries together. Simply because I feel compelled to make it known that my life and my house is a safe space for any Americans now scared for their lives over what the next 4 years might hold for them.
Today is definitely a "YO SKRILL DROP IT HARD" kind of day. Dubstep is an excellent ADHD substitute for caffeine. π€£
Do any of my fellow Elder Millenials randomly just shout out "CAN YOU TAKE ME HIGHER! TO A PLACE WHERE BLIND MEN SEE!" just for the dopamine? π€£ Just me?
I think we need to study the psychological effects of the herb rosemary on people's moods. Seriously, if I put that on anything I am cooking and then just hang out near the oven, I am 100% happier.
In a first for me, I've just had an email forwarded to be by a colleague from someone organising a conference saying that in their research my name has come up a lot, but they haven't been able to find my email address. What an insanely validating experience. π
Was one of the selling points for me too. They also do an amazing GC style split controller.
I've got some NYXI Hyperion Pro controllers. Makes it significantly more comfortable to hold. Really is amazing to suddenly realise how poor the ergonomics of the joycons are when you get third party ones. π€£
In today's episode of "Raising Children can be Ridiculous" my 3 year old daughter is currently cross with me because I won't let her do her "ABC Homework" because she hasn't finished eating her pizza. What?!
Alright Tottenham fans. What's happening tonight. We winning? God I hope so.
Sounds good to me! I think where we are in our lives at the time plays a big factor in our favourite games. Sonic 3 is one of my all time favourite games for no real reason other than I was just starting to explore the Sega Mega Drive and begin my gaming hobby! ππ€πΌππΌ
Checked out my Spotify wrapped, some solid bangers from the year in it. Does anyone else see the minutes played as an open challenge to yourself? I'll be beating that this year.
Is it saying something when I delete my X account so that I can be rid of Elongated Muskrat but have to download an app to cross post to the various other accounts I have opened up? π€£
Gaming and films was pretty good yesterday. Chasing these two sweethearts around Colchester Zoo today was even better. Pretty awesome way to mentally recharge. On to the next week, it's going to be long!
A day of Minecraft Pixelmon Mod and as many Jurassic Park films as we can fit in. Having two kids, 6 and 3, who love dinosaurs and gaming is an absolute win! Taught them about how films are made to take the scary out of the animatronics.
Hey, I'm Tom and I'm the Surface Imaging Specialist at the Natural History Museum in London. You'll see my laser scanning and light reconstruction work on museum specimens here. You'll also get a load of my family, football, F1 and nature posts!
Lemmings on the Sega Megadrive. Lit that fire within me for puzzle games. I also recently learnt that when I was at school my Mum played it. It's the only computer game she's ever played!
Is there a different way to play games?
