i think yqy being too traumatised to open up about the caves is valid and sympathetic but even he understands that shen jiu doesn't know his valid reasoning and has every right to cut him off for good, much as yqy wishes to be forgiven.

i think if we're going to say that yqy shouldn't have had to tell sj about the caves, we also have to be honest and say that in that case sj had no obligation to reconcile with or forgive him (he did the latter anyway, but because he's a better person than he thinks he is).
