This is absolutely true of so many things. This is one reason that I've been critical of schools leaning on SIOP so heavily. I don't know many teachers who will implement SIOP with fidelity, and when they don't see results, they blame the student or give up on all scaffolds.
We closed ours in NC. We kept our affinity offices but their staff was severely cut.

I hate to say it, but I think this is just the beginning. People are at least keeping Special Education in the public mindset, but I don't hear anyone at the national level discussing the needs of MLs. :(

I think this is a distraction to keep us from looking closely at the other EOs that he's put in place. This is part of Stephen Miller's 'flood the zone' strategy of throwing so much out there that it's too overwhelming. We focus on the most outrageous and the less outrageous gets through.
