Single-cell spatial proteomics maps human liver zonation patterns and their vulnerability to disruption in tissue architecture - Nature Metabolism Using the single-cell Deep Visual Proteomics technique, the authors develop a resource providing spatially resolved proteomic analysis of individual cells in human liver tissue.

Ever wondered how the human liver looks like at single-cell, spatial protein resolution? We used single-cell Deep Visual Proteomics to map human liver zonation at the protein level - one hepatocyte at a time. Our paper is out in @natmetabolism.nature.com! www.nature.com/articles/s42...

C-COMPASS: a user-friendly neural network tool profiles cell compartments at protein and lipid levels - Nature Methods C-COMPASS is an open-source software designed to predict the spatial cellular distribution of proteins and lipids from cellular organelle profiling using a neural network-based regression model.

Iβ€˜m excited to announce that our paper has just been published in π‘π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’ π‘€π‘’π‘‘β„Žπ‘œπ‘‘π‘ .

Here, we provide a solution for analyzing subcellular proteomics datasets and extend it to predict lipid localizations as well.

We uncovered a new phosphatidic acid (PA)-binding domain in Pex30 essential for its localization and normal PA distribution. Plus, Pex30 phosphorylation tunes its activity in response to metabolic cues.

This regulation is key for membrane contact site maintenance and overall cell homeostasis.

Pex30-like proteins function as adaptors at distinct ER membrane contact sites | Journal of Cell Biology | Rockefeller University Press Membrane contact sites (MCSs) between the ER and other organelles, such as lipid droplets and peroxisomes, are essential for lipid homeostasis. This study

Excited to share the new work from the Carvalho lab @dunnschool.bsky.social! πŸŽ‰This was part of my PhD & a collaboration with the @labvanni.bsky.social & Ernst labs!

Big thanks to everyone involved! πŸ™Œ @jcb.org

I finally have made the move to Bluesky! πŸ™‚
I hope to find cell biology/biochemistry content soon. Let me know if you have good suggestions.
