Yeah it's like the Amway of self-help.

Our new Health Minister started an anti-abortion club when he was at Uni and voted against banning anti-gay conversion therapy. I mean yours is worse, but FFS.
Oh f**k right off
Stoked that our new Health Minister is going to be a dude who started an anti-abortion club while at Uni. #MaytheLordOpen
You know I was. I worked at sound of music on the main street and sold you My Bloody Valentine CDs
Haha have just found this part of the thread!
Was never part of Subtronix (that was Andy Pickering, Dave Roper and later Geoff Presha). But I did work at Sound of Music, at the same time Johnny Shihad as we called him then, worked at a CD shop in Manners Mall (HMV?) - my gf would take me in so she could swoon at him.
βMilestoneβ? F**k this thing is taking longer than an Air New Zealand safety videoβ¦
Fireworks for a rainy day :)
I've literally been setting off ones I bought last year, back when times were good :)
Maybe they consider them 'special' in the other sense of the word.
As I say, I saw on numerous occasions Luxon and Willis being taken to task about their numbers - Jack Tame on Q+A for instance - so I take issue with "completely failed". Not saying they could've have done more.
We just need Paddy on the case.
I mean, a lot of was pretty obvious, and much came out in the media (like the tax cut costings being BS) but people voted for it anyway. I'm not sure the media hold that much responsibility vs the people who actually voted.
Shout out to all the "well actually, I think you'll find the specials aren't going to go that way this time" experts.
Sorry to say but my experience with a lot of the other side has concluded the same thing. People who are super into politics generally don't have the time or willingness to lose control to dedicate to proper partying. There are exceptions, but I won't name them here.
They should give it to Winston, for so many reasons, not least of all his new constituency that need to be shown the earth is round...
Going back to the polls wouldnβt be the worst thing. At least I could rethink giving my electorate vote to Helen βsorry whatβs your name? Amelia?β White, and Iβm already working on the person in my family Iβll simply refer to as βMumβ regarding her giving Winston the tick π€¨
The aliens running our simulation have finally discovered they can just get AI to generate the plot. Quick, count how many fingers they've got.
It's bad enough that I was considering Wellington for our climate-future home given it seems to have given it an amazing summer while we had floods... but Hamilton?
Hey NZ folks, I'm still on the lookout for a new role! If you need (or know someone who needs) a person with experience in building environmental measurement frameworks, scientific research, and communicating science in the startup space...let's chat! Or a boost to your networks is appreciated too.
Can one not post video here? Given what I do for a living (and enjoy mucking around with the rest of the time) that might be a dealbreakerβ¦ βΉοΈ
I feel like National and Act should sign a coalition agreement where the version National keeps says no to a referendum on Te Tiriti, and Act's version says that there will be. And then National can go by the version kept by and preferred by the larger party.
All right, which of you did this?

I mean it's true that some electorate seats might've gone a different way, but it makes no difference to how many seats they end up with overall.
Either that or he knows how to solve worldwide inflation.
I just heard Luxon saying "we listened to the people who are struggling with high interest rates"... can't wait for that to be sorted on Monday, along with inflation...then we should let the rest of the world know how to do it too.
Hahah classic - Tony/Toni/Tone is pretty much the original "oh is that a boy or a girl" names though right? It's not one of those tricky ones like Steve...
My Mum just called to tell me that Chris Hipkins has just come out in his concession speech. That wasn't on my election night bingo card. Turns out my uncle heard the words "partner" and "Tony" and made several huge leaps of boomer logic π
The young waiter at the restaurant where weβre having my Auntβs 70th saw me watching the election, and excitedly asked who I voted for. When I told her, she screwed up her face and said βReally???β with a mix of surprise and disgust π€£ Itβs her first election, so I forgive her misplaced enthusiasm.
I didnβt even know he owned it. Damn that doesnβt give me much hope about its eventual decline to a dumpster fire
