Maine delegation urges USDA to deliver adequate farm relief
Wild blueberry production declined substantially in 2025, due to a wet spring followed by drought. The potato and apple industries face similar pressures.
There's nothing more quintessentially Maine than wild blueberries, potatoes from the County, & crisp apples.
Β
Along with the Maine delegation, we urged the USDA to deliver specialty crop assistance & help these Maine-grown industries handle adversity.

Our national parks tell the story of our nation β the good, the bad, but always the TRUTH. Attempting to erase or omit our dark chapters only works to promote a repeat of these sad periods in history. We must continue to share the full history of our great nation.

Sen. Angus King backs bill to refund unlawful tariffs
King said American businesses and consumers paid $134 billion to cover the cost of tariffs.
Too many Maine small businesses were harmed by Trump's unconstitutional tariffs β costing billions nationwide.
Thatβs why I cosponsored the Tariff Refund Act, which would require refunds for those tariffs & prioritize small businesses first.

Sen. King, Rep. Pingree press DHS on βOperation Catch of the Dayβ
Maineβs congressional delegation is demanding details about a recent ICE operation, questioning its scope, targets, and arrest numbers.
Maine people deserve clarity on special ICE operations in Maineβwhat the goal is, who is being targeted, how decisions are being made, and whether or not ICE is still operating on our streets.
Rumors donβt cut it when public safety is on the line.

Sen. King says it's 'nonsense' that U.S. needs to own Greenland for national security
The independent also said he was appalled by Trump administration's suggestions that the U.S. could use the military to take control of the arctic territory.
Thereβs no national security reason for the U.S. to buy, capture, or take over Greenland. None.
We must instead continue to work with our trusted NATO allies β like weβve done for 75 years β to protect the Arctic and our interests.

VA to eliminate 35,000 healthcare positions, including some in Maine
The Department of Veterans Affairs is set to eliminate 35,000 healthcare positions, including some in Maine.
Abraham Lincoln said it best when he said our nation has the responsibility to care for those who have fought our countryβs battles. Cutting positions at the VA and making it harder to access care is no way to repay veterans for their service.

If you donβt learn the mistakes of history, you're more likely to repeat them. The Administration's efforts to erase some of our history at national parks does a disservice to future generations.

Sen. King joins letter defending Department of Education
Senator Angus King is defending the Department of Education.
Dismantling the Department of Education will hurt students and educators in Maine and across the country. The Administration's attempt to outsource functions of the Department to other federal agencies is not only harmful to our young people, it's illegal.

Supply of H2B visas falls short of Maine hotel and restaurant needs heading into winter season
U.S. Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins asked the departments of Homeland Security and Labor to release maximum amount of H2B visas for 2026.
The H-2B visa program is a lifeline for Maine small businesses β helpingΒ employers meet increased demand when the local workforce isΒ insufficient. I'm calling on the Administration to release the maximum number of these visas to support our seasonal economy.

Senator Angus King presses USDA to release SNAP funds
STATEWIDE -- Senator Angus King is pressing the USDA to immediately release SNAP funds to help feed Maine families.
Nearly 170,000 Maine people rely on SNAP to put food on their tables, but these benefits may lapse due to the shutdown. There are many ways for the Agriculture Department to free up funds, and I'm urging the Secretary deliver this vital aid.
