1/3 On 2/12, border czar Tom Homan announced a draw down of federal agents in the Twin Cities. We do not trust this announcement, & neither should anyone else. We have forced them into a partial retreat, but we are not done. We will not stop until the last whistle is blown.
Also for every DSA and DSA-friendly Minneapolis politicians. They were the only ones in the streets doing the work.
I am wary of any politicians doing a victory lap today before we’ve seen on the ground that ICE has left. Their surety makes me think that they negotiated something and I think they owe it to us to be as transparent as possible about what that is.

Sheriffs were literally on scene pushing people out of the way to let these goons rush this kid outside. Just own your decision to collaborate.

It’s depressing to see the conditions outside the Whipple Building with fences and barricades. If it looks like this outside, imagine what our neighbors are experiencing inside. 1/
This morning 5 ICE vehicles parked illegally in a bike lane and in MPD parking spots directly outside of City Hall. Myself and several other Council Members and city staff went outside to observe them and blew our whistles to alert people nearby. After about 45 minutes they left

“Agents have now begun obscuring their plates with mud and snow (sometimes fake snow), illegal plate covers, or by driving without plates, said Craig Wymore, who has spent weeks observing activity outside the Whipple Building.”
So Whipple roads get to be as blocked off as the Feds and HennCo sheriff want to protect evil, but Frey/MPD say neighbors don’t get to do partial blocks of roads at all to prevent evil. Cool.

The City should be taking the lead here:
- Allow multi-day block party permits and waive fees
- Install emergency traffic calming yourselves
- Work with the County to do it on county roads too
- Connect PW staff or nonviolent safety orgs with RR efforts, so we can have trained marshals in busy areas

What's tough to get across to folks outside MN is that both the occupation & everyday resistance are both happening at such a scale that it's kinda flipped a lot of what most would assume makes sense for precautions or 'opsec'. Everything from spicy stuff to mundane have different rules than before
