This is my first go with it!
An underrated advantage of reading paper books is getting your steps in by walking to the library
Have you read any other Montgomery? I have to say the Emily series is even better than Anne, IMO.
Iβll be Saturday librarian-ing, but looking forward to more of The Count of Monte Cristo (Buss translation).
Remember when we had a president who could be seen in a bookstore buying books?
Predictably lukewarm as hell, Senator. Turn up the heat! What is wrong with you and your colleagues?!
A sign in page for WorldCat (search.worldcat.org). The text reads: Are you ready to unleash a world of knowledge and discovery? Sign in to WorldCat and unlock a treasure trove of library holdings, favorite your go-to libraries, and curate lists that fuel your curiosity.
What a shame that WorldCat now requires users to log in before they can interact with records. I like to send people to WorldCat when I reference a book, so they can find it at their local library. Unfortunately, Amazon doesnβt require a loginβbut now WC does.
The mission creep is putting a huge damper on my love of libraries and why I got into them. Iβm hearing from patrons formally and informally about what they want their library to look like and ultimately, they want community centers, not libraries.
Plus, I think youβll especially appreciate that the avatar, a bean, knits while you focus!
I like the Focus Friend app from @hankgreen.bsky.social and friends. If you get the premium version ($30, I think? And Green has a history of being scrupulously ethical with companies/money), you can block app access by app, leaving what must be available to you available during focus sessions.

Must be nice.
Nah bro, abolish them. Burn the whole thing down.
I dunno man, maybe if you DO YOUR JOB weβll have answers and accountability.
A partially-knit sock lies flat on a table. The sock is primarily purple, green, and blue, and features a gray UFO with a neon yellow beam extending down toward the heel. Next to the sock are two point protectors fashioned to look like donuts.
Pretty happy with how this is coming along given I pretty much DIYed the pattern pulling from existing patterns. πΈ #KnitSky
Is it baseball season yet? π©
Hot Ones has been enshittified. Prove me wrong.
Damn if only you had the power to subpoena her or something.
Such a loss. Grateful for the work she did for the field.
Oh no. Terrible news.
I donβt know, Mark, maybe you should call your senator.
Yβall need to start ostracizing your R colleagues. If youβre still buddy-buddy with them, they get the message they can keep this up without consequence.
From your experience in Congress, what specific actions should we be demanding of our electeds?
How about in baseball, period? Iβm going with Nomar to the Cubs in 2004, even though the Red Sox went on to break the curse. Nomar deserved better. (No hate to the Cubs!)
Inside the Music Center at Strathmore, the audience settles into their seats ahead of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concert
Enjoyed Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Heyward with pianist Denis Kozhukhin tonight. Selections were Rachmaninoffβs Piano Concerto No. 4 and Shostakovichβs Symphony No. 4, both chosen as statements on antifascism. πΈ
Cool, so what are you going to do about it? Call her in for a hearing.
