I don’t think anyone made/makes the connection between the pressure to have extreme reactions (including quietly extreme ones like shunning), & the perpetuation of sexism & discrimination. 3/3
Also, both real & DARVO’d behavior issues of all kinds for anyone were frequently met with denial &/or shunning, so no one can ever improve or reveal that the problem isn’t some character flaw, & serious behavior issues can be identified w/o catastrophe for one or both parties. 2/
This is just my personal experience, but I’ve noticed that, with sexism in animation, it’s rarely ever that everyone is a target of sexism, it’s that individual women are, & the culture dismisses their suffering as something wrong with their character. Thus all are made vulnerable.

I’ve fully added beading to my hoard of hobbies. I do not cycle thru them. I try them & I go on liking most of them & just want to spend all my time doing all.
This hobby involves addictively low risk for high satisfaction. Alls I did here was sort & string a strand of blue tourmaline beads.
I don’t blame Pixar for being afraid that having openly gay characters would result in bigoted backlash that might flop their movie.
Just call it what it is.
I want a gay animated film about love, romance, relationships and belonging, handling those big ideas in all special ways animated stories do best.
I don’t think animation is secure or stable enough for that yet. Until they are, who cares about 6 sec of representation by gay centaurs or whatever.
Are you spending hundreds of millions of dollars to make films so that emotionally neglectful parents can avoid the convos they aren’t going to have anyway?
But also, I may be an outlier in the LGBTQ+ community, but I am super not interested in “gay elements,” of an animated film—I want a gay film.
