I want someone to run on the platform that they won’t deport anyone and also will give us an actual functional train system all over this country.

I really want ppl w/o Minneapolis connections to understand
You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen
*Everyone has stories like this*
I got two children and myself to the dentist(s) today, and it’s times like these that I feel I am actually grown. I am responsible for so much dental hygiene!
The past two days that I’ve come to campus, there have been supporters and workers outside Starbucks picketing for unionization, most appearing to be under the age of 40. And it is COLD right now. Two different locations.
I’m just really proud of these young folks. Power to the people, forever. ✊
I recently got back on threads because there are a couple of people on there that don’t seem to post in the same amount anywhere else that I wanted to follow.
But…I feel like half of the posts I see on that platform are repeats of other posts in a way that feels like AI. Anybody else feel this?
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!
We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.
We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.
A vote for this bill is a mistake.
Photo of Assata Shakur seated. She appears to be speaking with her hands extended in the air. Her words overlays the photo: “At this point, I think that it is important to make one thing very clear. I have advocated and I still advocate revolutionary changes in the structure and in the principles that govern the United States. I advocate self-determination for my people and for all oppressed inside the United States. I advocate an end to capitalist exploitation, the abolition of racist policies, the eradication of sexism, and the elimination of political repression. If that is a crime, then I am totally guilty.”
Assata taught me that “Only a fool lets somebody else tell him who his enemy is.” May her spirit fly free!🤲🏾
"In the name of 'fighting antisemitism', the Trump administration is publicly making an example out of arguably the most famous Jewish public intellectual in the country today."
The casual way he mentioned this in today’s press conference is WILD. I don’t even think I have words.
The point is cruelty. There is no other explanation.
Something's up (down?) at #UNC.
The Bd of Trustees, which has authority over tenure decisions, tabled all at its March mtg & re-tabled all from the College of Arts & Sciences & the non-health professional schools (Law, Biz, etc) at its next mtg. All w/o explanation.

Yr girl is an ASSOCIATE Professor now 💅. Officially tenured!

I saw Dr. Hayden speak the weekend I found out I was pregnant in 2016. Several years later, we hosted a party for her at my library when she was at the university. She was so gracious, basically introducing herself to every person in the room. So angry at her treatment.
When we met Ms. Ozturk in Basile, she told us she feared for her life when she was taken off the streets of her neighborhood, not knowing who had grabbed her or where they were taking her. She said that at each step of her transit — from Massachusetts to New Hampshire to Vermont to Louisiana — her repeated requests to contact her lawyer were denied. Inside the detention center, she was inadequately fed, kept in facilities with extremely cold temperatures and denied personal necessities and religious accommodations. She suffered asthma attacks for which she lacked her prescribed medication. Despite all this — and despite being far away from her loved ones — we were struck by her unwavering spirit. Why did the Trump administration target her? By all accounts, it’s because she was one of the authors of an opinion essay for The Tufts Daily criticizing her university’s response to resolutions that the Tufts student senate passed regarding Israel and Gaza. This is not immigration enforcement. This is repression. This is authoritarianism.
According to three members of Congress, Rumeysa Ozturk has been repeatedly denied access to her lawyer, refused asthma medication despite attacks, forced to endure extreme temperatures, and denied religious accommodations.
Her ‘crime’? An oped in a school newspaper.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.
When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.
Breaking News: A second child has died of measles in West Texas amid an escalating outbreak. It is the second confirmed measles death in a decade in the U.S.
Despite the heaviness of life and fascism right now, I would like everyone to know I bravely walked by our mean resident geese to get into the library this morning, and it lifted my spirits a bit.
I did wait for them to walk past the door tho.
We are disappearing people off the street
So in light of yesterday’s major news, I want to note that I saw it break here on Bluesky first, which is one of the reasons I used Twitter in the way back. Glad Bluesky is making headway in that regard. I didn’t see it posted elsewhere for a couple hours. Maybe it was but the algos didn’t show me.
Pro-Life.
Seems…not good.
So on March 9, a French scientist, on a visa to attend a conference in Houston, was denied entry to the US and subsequently expelled because his phone had messages decrying scientific policies put forward by the Trump administration: www.lemonde.fr/internationa...
A school photo of a gently smiling teenage girl. She has long brown hair and a black cardigan.
My dear friend’s niece, who in October developed sepsis when a Georgia hospital refused her a D&C after a miscarriage, will be taken off life support tomorrow.
I don’t know the names of the countless others who have suffered and will suffered because of anti-abortion laws.
But her name was Haley.
Down with S.B. 1!! Down with censorship! Down with extremist politicians from crooked districts interfering in scholarship and education.
It is wild how quickly the shirts come off in Ohio on frat row when it is above 50 degrees.
