That put me back in that mindset of hearing that record for the first time after being a Muses fan for so long. It was so bracingly different but had the lineage, too — being somehow muscular and ethereal at the same time. You capture what’s so special about it!

2026 Lil Rhody Voter Guide Help us publish in time for the September Primary!

This could be great - RI’s Paula Hodges is fundraising to launch a voter guide to local candidates. Only 40% of RI voters (at best) even know their state rep’s names, let alone their stances, so a guide is badly needed. givebutter.com/2026-lil-rho...

When she picked up the barred owl, it was limp and trembling. Its eyes were half open, its entire body bruised, and blood was dripping from its beak. The owl died within hours, another casualty of an accidental poison in its food supply.

The rise of end times fascism | Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them

This is it. This is the baseline assumption I think we should be working from.

"we are up against an ideology that has given up not only on the premise and promise of liberal democracy but on the livability of our shared world [...] The forces we are up against have made peace with mass death.

I guess I should be thankful my corner got some of its snow cleared, but did it have to be between 2 and 3am last night? My house was shaking, it was so loud and disruptive.

I will add that Swamp Thing was one of the most painterly comics I had ever seen — just sumptuously beautiful. The art team — Totleben, Bessette, and Wood — took Alan Moore’s incredible words and brought them to life in a way that impacted my worldview. What storytelling. 🌟

Don’t click on the second picture if you aren’t ready to cry in big, heaving sobs. (It’s from Moore’s Pogo tribute and it will rip out your heart and stomp on it.)
