One reason thrift stores are great: we just bought 4 pairs of pants for me, 2 kids snow pants, and a board game for ~$40.
Having pants my postpartum body actually fits in (that are not yoga pants)? Priceless.
Dad just gave me a couple of his wool button up shirts (with elbow patches) and one smells like him.
I feel very cozy right now.

I just saw the latest video of ICE killing someone. Holy fuck. I had gotten used to the group of masked men beating someone on the ground, but then fucking shot him.

There's something very satisfying about having both kids in the same cloth diapers. Set to different sizes obviously, but my newborn and my 3-year-old are both putting to use gifts from 3 years ago and that feels a lot better than going out and buying a new package of disposables.

Another turtle died right before my first kid was born, then another the next year. I only have one left now. He has been with me since 2006ish. Hopefully he will be around a few more years.
While I was in the hospital my turtle Fritzie died. I had her since my first year of college (2001). As the numbness from my birth trauma wears off I have more feels about this.
She was a good turtle, and my favorite. 🐢
After my upgrade I keep the dumb one in the closet. In case of power lost it will do just fine (batteries) and my old furnace works without electricity too. The Nest gets upset without wifi.
Sometimes it is the little things: like a partner who will go to CVS and physically stand there in front of them so your script for pain meds are filled faster. (From 2 hr estimated wait to 10 mins)
(I say little but it feels big)
