No doubt buoyed by their recent success at blocking the construction of a nursing home the Dalkey NIMBYs are now going after wind farms on the Kish bank. This typo-ridden screed was pushed through my door.
@darthbluesky.bsky.social time to wake up
Meanwhile journalists and politicians alike are supporting the CSAM machine by continually posting there. It's nuts.
Distribution of CSAM and other non consensual images is already a crime. The gardai should be prosecuting it as such. We don't have to wait for the law to "catch up".
There was a long running advert on Irish TV where some young creep is accosted by Gardai for threatening to share compromising pictures of his ex online. Now we have it happening on an industrial scale and the gardai and government are dithering
Transport Transport budget too small for new services in 2026, officials admit Department of Transport was allocated β¬4.74bn in budget as set out in October
The government has paused expansion of public transport. BusConnects in Dublin, Cork etc. along with new LocalLink routes for rural areas are all now at risk. Happy New Year from FF, FG & Lowry!
Reminds me to go back and reread Consider the Lobster by DFW.
Absolute gold.
Imagine if cities demanded the same of car manufacturers.
They've done it again, they've cut more rail projects. The most criminal one for me is cancelling the reopening of the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare line. On the left is the All-island Rail Review published by the last government and on the right is the plan published today.

Pretty crazy that nearly all of the EU Commission is still on X even as Elon Musk is literally talking about destroying the EU.
You can leave X. It's really not that difficult.

Correct but @theguardian.com is saying here that to use their website you need to accept tracking (not functional) cookies from 132 data brokers. Either that or pay more to opt out. The Sun is the other Brit paper that does this. I can't see how it's legal
In 2015 Spain raised the marriage age from 14 to 16 and the age of consent from 13 to 16.
Screenshot showing that the guardian requires paying subscriber s to pay more to remove trackers
What is this bs from @theguardian.com and how is it even legal under the GDPR?
(I am already paying subscriber btw)
New data modelling suggests that the world is on track to warm by 2Β°C and 3Β°C even if countries met every near-term climate pledge and hit their targets for net-zero COβ emissions

Most kids donβt need another iPad. They need a bike lane so they donβt have relay on racing in a virtual environment but can cycle alongside each other.

The question isnβt "why does Signal use AWS?" Itβs to look at the infrastructural requirements of any global, real-time, mass comms platform and ask how it is that we got to a place where thereβs no realistic alternative to AWS and the other hyperscalers. 3/
Haunted Dancehall at the NCH was a big success. Lots of great acts and RΓ³is the highlight of the evening for me. Well done to @foggynotions.bsky.social for another great evening
Exactly the kind of negativity we've come to expect from the Lisbon Salted Fish fan base
Yes, I want to see headlines about the millions of euros that are spent so people who were once elected can store their car in the centre of Dublin. haul them in front of an oireachtas committee!
a brutalized neon flex post with tire tracks all over it and tire tracks in the bike lane behind it.
