It’s that daffodil time of the year. I love it. There’s nothing more cheerful than daffodils beaming at you from the kitchen table. Although, it’s always sad when they breathe their last.

I think of this poem by @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social every time I butter bread. I am the person responsible for fixing all the many things that are broken here, and I haven't fixed them, and my kids would have every right to protest, and here I am once again crying over badly-buttered bread.

Wishing everyone goodnight and sweet dreams with this beautiful piece by Japanese children's book illustrator Chihiro Iwasaki, who was born #OTD in 1918.
