I know of at least one series where the MC is hit by truck-kun in order to put him into a purgatory royale competition where all the (now deceased) entrants were gender-swapped, confused, and not allowed for whatever reason to deadname themselves

There's a romantic subplot that starts in the paralogue (Cookies & Campers) that's more central to the later side-stories, but still mostly low-key
And finally, this series is very sequential, so it's recommended to stick to the reading order. The end of each e-book should mention what comes next
There's some limited romance subplots, more implied than in the forefront for most episodes
One girl has a boyfriend who joins the game in ep.5, with the main theme being friendship jealousy
The game-master starts dating, but that's almost all background detail and the girls teasing him about it
