I like when I’m standing in a gray, shadowy place and a sunbeam illuminates distant trees and clouds with a warm orange glow. Feels like a sign.

Artwork by Norwegian artist David sandum. He explains this piece by these words: One of my works from late 2025, ”Together.” I started the Together series in 2012. At the time, I felt there was so much focus on the sexual aspect of relationships in art. I wanted to address the softer side. The supportive and steady part—the partnership that may endure over time. The sensual is often present in my work, but usually as an undertone. I have done more sexually explicit work, but I mostly keep them to myself. Having said that, in art there are no rules. No right or wrong. The Together series is one of my main themes that I return to. I have several: ’Alone By the Sea’, ’Together’, ’Abandoned Houses’, ’Roots and Branches’ etc. I love to develop them and think I will explore them for the rest of my life. They sum up what I experience, long for, dream of, and feel—where nature and love is a healing force, and suffering and endurance are equally present. I was once asked if I was an expressionist? I answered that expressing emotions through color and human emotions makes me such. But I am a romantic expressionist.” This is felt here. Today we remember TAE19 in Edinburgh, Scotland (PAE used to be TAE). Our curator that year was the fabulous Sam Bannister who did an amazing job raising funds for Art in Healthcare Her vast efforts are still remembered! Her attention to detail, PR, and event organization were truly impressive, along with her positive ”bubbly” smile. This was one of our largest exhibits with over 900 participating artists from all over the world. The exhibit was opened by a piper in the amazing venue Out of the blue Drillhall: The ribbon was cut by Founder David Sandum and Ben MacPherson, Member of the Scottish Parliament and Minister for Europe. We also had a new twist of technology in the show by Trevor Jones who allowed us to scan artwork on our phones to see the art process of how cards were created by participating artists. The exhibit drew much public attention, including a news segment on Scottish television. This can be viewed in our ”Press and media kit” section on our website (scroll all the way to the bottom). Scotland will always have a special place in our hearts!
Our exhibit in The Netherlands will be nr 15! Here are 4 photos from the 2019 show in Edinburgh, Scotland. The charity that year was Art in Healthcare.
